Kudremukh literally means ‘horse face’ as the mountain ranges looks like a face of the horse from a particular distance. Lush green hills, forests, grasslands, etc. make this land more beautiful. Due to all these qualities, it comes under the Western Ghats.
This Karnataka town was declared by the British administration as a Reserve Forest to preserve it from burning down and deforestation practices. But, now the area is known for its iron-ore mining and the high hill mountains.

Four of the routes are Samse to Kudremukh to Samse, Navoor to Hevala to KUdremukh to Navoor, Navoor to Kudremukh to Samse and Horanaadu to Sringeri.
