The Grandover Resort for conferences, spa and golf, banquets, weddings and more.

The Grandover Resort in Greensboro, NC – A Review

The Grandover is a resort and spa with golf courses and space for conferences. It is a very luxurious place and if you would like to feel like a king or queen even just for a day or two then take a visit to The Grandover resort and be in the elegant lap or luxury. Now, no place is perfect. Some aspects of the resort seem a bit older and like they are in need of renovation. I once read that even Buckingham Palace had an asbestos problem at one point. Renovations, updates and maintenance were needed and the Queen of England even had to relocate to one of her private residences for a while as the asbestos problem was taken care of.

At the Grandover resort and spa in Greensboro, North Carolina, you will be sure to have a mostly positive experience. While it is a pricey hotel to stay in, you can find discounts at internet retail discount sites such as Groupon. If you really need some rest and relaxation and a break from cooking, you can spend a weekend at the Grandover for approximately $450 including your bill for meals in the restaurant or room service. Yes, if you are renting or owning a house, you might find it ridiculous to pay the same amount will cover half of your mortgage payment or rent for the entire month for a couple of nights in a hotel. The key word here is “vacation” or “staycation” if you live right in the area of Greensboro, North Carolina. The concept of a “staycation” is becoming more and more widely popular is people want to take little vacations but don’t want to add the cost of airfare or other modes of travel to the expenses.

A staycation really can feel like quite a getaway, even if you are remaining very close to home in actuality.

When you leave the Grandover resort and come back to earth, you will have relished your stay there and be very fond of the memory of it. You might be over spending money on staycations for a while and come back home with ideas for how to make your own home more lovely instead. With the money that you would spend on another upcoming vacation or staycation, maybe you would instead like to invest in some luxury hotel quality bedding, towels and drapes for your own home. The Hotel Collection is an example of a brand that offers very nice towels, sheets and quilts. I prefer to buy them in the color white.

In my opinion, the more that you love your own home, the less you would want to leave. Nevertheless, keep in mind that everybody needs a change of scenery sometimes anyway. Vacations and sometimes staycations are more important than they are given credit for.

The Grandover Resort in Greensboro, NC

Many times, the Grandover resort and spa is utilized for work. People can go there for business or pleasure. As mentioned before, there is much conference space there. Additionally, when celebrity entertainers such as singers and other musicians are in Greensboro, North Carolina to perform in concerts and the Greensboro Coliseum for example, the Grandover resort is often recognized as a choice place for them to go and rest their heads at night. Besides for huge bus trailers, if you ever wonder where celebrities stay when they are performing for a couple of nights at a big venue in a city, the Grandover resort is one of those places. The Grandover resort is a luxurious place for both the rich and famous who spare no expense or the average income level people that want to treat themselves and indulge because they work hard and they deserve it. The Grandover resort has something for everyone and being there is a lovely experience.

At times, the resort can seem very quiet and serene as if there is no one there. The spacious rooms might have very large windows that overlook the beautiful golf course. Even if you are not a golfer, you will appreciate these impressive golf courses. If you are a golfer, you will be eager to pay the fee so that you can indulge in a couple of rounds of golf on such an awesome golf course.

Many channels including some channels with interesting movies are available on the televisions that are included in the rooms. You can potentially just lie in bed, veg out and watch some television. When you find your energy, the swimming pool is very nice and a great place to go for a swim. Leading down to the swimming pool, you will also pass an area where visitors can go for spa treatments. Maybe you will want to stop by and make an appointment at the spa as well. It would be possible to get a facial or a back massage, for example.

Go for a swim and/ or eat some great food at the Grandover

Going swimming can often cause you to work up an appetite, so if your stomach is growling when you get out of the swimming pool at the Grandover resort, perhaps you will want to go back up to your room, get cleaned up and then go down to the restaurant on the main floor near the lobby or optionally order in and enjoy room service.

The food at the Grandover resort is very good. The shrimp cocktail is especially enjoyable with large and fresh shrimp and tart and delicious cocktail sauce. The salmon salad is also very good, with fresh and delicious salmon. If you have taken your kids along as I did, the trip to the Grandover resort will feel very special to them. They might be a little bit awestruck and they will always remember it and talk about it. If you get a hotel room on a high floor, the kids might want to stand at the window and look out on to the golf course for a long time! On the menu, the pizza or the burger are good options that the children might enjoy. The desserts are also very artfully created and they are presented nicely on the plates. You will take a moment to admire the creation before you dig in. You’ll want to remember to savor it and not it eat it up too fast! The portion size for the desserts are also large and plenty to share.

As I always recommend in my hubs about trips, the Grandover resort is another place where you will want to take your camera along and take lots of pictures for your family to save and enjoy the memory of it. If you have the means to go back and make multiple visits to the Grandover resort, you probably will. If you go there for a once in a lifetime experience, you will always remember it as well.
