Introduction

I had an opportunity to spend an afternoon at a local SPA. It was very relaxing and the cost very reasonable. Especially I was able to get a 50% discount via Groupon.

The Facilities...

SPA Castle is a huge complex located in Flushing NY. It is not far from La Gurdia airport and within view of the Whitestone bridge. There are 4 levels to this facility along with a huge outdoor area containing 3 heated pools.

There is valet parking but street parking is available as well.

It is fashioned after ISpa of Irvine, Ca. I had written about that facility a while ago.

Here is link to my article. SPA castle is three times bigger in size and with more facilities. The basic concept is the same. There is a jacuzzi and shower and massage area in the lowest level. These are separared by sex. The rest of the area are common to both sexes. The second level is a large lounge where you can relax, sleep, lounge, and snack on various health foods and drinks including smoothie and fruits. It also has 5 or 6 sauna of various attributes and an ice room to cool off.

The next level has indoor pool area along with bar that serves liquor while you lounge in the heated pool. There is also a children’s section with no alchoholic beverages.

The best part is the outdoor area which consist of a large jacuzzi and two large heated pools. These pools contain various showers of heated water and it is open all year round. When you go in the winter, the steam rises above the heated water and it is a relaxing scene.

The last level called the garden cafe has a restaurant where you can order various Asian foods. There is also an indoor play area for children. This place is very family friendly.

Summary

This SPA is very unusual. It is located in a bedroom community of Queens borough. It is easy to get to and they even have free shuttles from the local train and bus stations. You can stay as long as you wish while they are open. I recommend a visit to check it out.
