Tips for How to Start a Bucket List.
How to start a Bucket List
Today, I decided to take a look at my bucket list and was surprised to find some of the things I had put on it and to see that I had accomplished some without even realizing it. So how do you start a bucket list and what do you put on it? Well, a bucket list is a list of things that you want to see and do before you die. I know thats easier said than done. Its easy to dream and write or type a whole bunch of stuff down.
Some tips to start your bucket list: Ask yourself some personal questions. Think about what you would have to do if you found out that you only had a year to life. What if it was only 6 months, 1 month, a week or one day? Or what if you won the lottery? Think of childhood dreams, things you might regret on your death bed and oohhh, what if a genie granted you three wises? Your brain juices should be turning at this point.
I started my bucket list by doing this and by finding out what was on other people's list.
So.... How to start crossing items off your list? One way is to just jump in and pick one to start with. I personally take the more conservative approach of trying to do the ones that are the easiest to accomplish and within my immediate reach. I have on my list to plant a tree, grow a garden, learn to play poker and learn to juggle. These are some of the easy ones to get done with first. But there are other ones that require a few hours drive to crossing the world to accomplish. I know that it is not reasonable to expect to ever accomplish all of the things on my list but why not try at least.
Start your bucket list today and you might be surprised by what you do on that list without even realizing it. I checked my list today and one of the things was to see the Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco. Well, last summer my sister and I went to San Francisco for a week and yes not only did we see the Golden Gate Bridge and drive across it, we rented bikes and biked across the bridge. My butt was killing me by the end of the day since it was the first time I had been on a bike in about 10 years, but it was well worth it. So now I can cross this achievement off my list. It's spring right now so it's the perfect time to plant a tree and start a garden. I can't wait to see what else I am going to get to cross off my list.
