Terrible's Hotel in Las Vegas - A Quick Review

Updated on March 23, 2011

Cheap price off the Strip

Terrible's is one of many discount hotel and casinos located off the Strip in Las Vegas. It's about a mile away from the Strip and 2 miles away from McCarren Airport. You could technically make the walk to either one, although I wouldn't recommend it, especially in the summertime. It's gets mighty hot in Las Vegas, and you don't want to show up at the classiest casinos in town with sweat soaking through your dress shirt.

Terrible's is a favorite among Nevada locals who don't feel like dropping $1,000 on a hotel each time they come into Las Vegas. They can stay at Terrible's for cheap, get their gaming on either at Terrible's or take a Las Vegas Taxi to the Strip, and save a lot of money in the process.

Rooms, rates, and of course entertainment

Terrible's was originally called the Continental, which was in operation from 1975 until 2000. When it was renamed Terrible's it was also extensively remodeled, so you probably wouldn't recognize the place if you stayed at it long ago when it was the Continental. Terrible's only has 370 rooms, which is tiny by Las Vegas standards. There are some hotels on the Strip that have 20 times as many rooms. The gaming floor at Terrible's is 35,000 square feet and rarely crowded.

A room at Terrible's will set you back between $35 and $75 a night depending on when you book and what room options you choose. That's a bargain in Las Vegas, especially since you're only a $10 cab ride from the Strip. Many of their room packages include such things as free breakfast, which is something you won't find at many of the upscale hotels.

You can often get discounts if you book your room and buy tickets for shows at Terrible's at the same time. Some of the acts they've booked there include Boyz II Men, The Beach Boys, The Commodores and Morris Day, and Air Supply.

In addition to gaming and entertainment, most guests at Terrible's will be able to enjoy a large plasma screen TV in their room, a pool and hot tub area in the courtyard, a great buffet, 24-hour dining, free parking, and a fitness center to burn off the calories from the buffet.
