Thanksgiving Vacation package and Tour Ideas in Newyork City

This article has been reference sourced from: www.thefrugalshopper.com - Thanksgiving Vacation packages

Nothing can beat a trip to NYC during the holidays. You can sit and watch the Macy's Parade from home, or you can take a big leap and enjoy it in person by going on a trip to the Big Apple. A very reasonable Thanksgiving tour package starts at just $544.50 each person for 2 nights at a hotel very close to the parade route itself. This is what you can expect in your trip itinerary:

Once you arrive there on Wednesday, November 24th, you can start out with a tour of the staging area of the Macy's Parade. You can watch the balloons being readied and see the floats being lined up for the next day. Then, afterwards, you'll go to Midtown to enjoy window-shopping at some of the exclusive shops on Fifth Avenue. For the evening, try dining at a world-renowned Manhattan restaurant or take in a Broadway Show in Times Square.

On Thanksgiving Day, start your morning out with a great continental breakfast at the Applebee's located at 50th and Broadway. After this, proceed to where you will watch the parade. The parade lasts about 2 1/2 hours, after which you can see the whole city from the top of the Empire State Building or the Rockefeller Center's Top of the Rock. A wonderful holiday buffet is the perfect conclusion to the evening. A nice way to spend the next morning is with Breakfast with Santa, and then go to either the Natural History Museum (featured in the film, "Night at the Museum") or the Metropolitan Museum of Art. To get more information about either of these go to nyctrip.com.

This is only one of the many packages available for the holiday weekend. You can get three nights starting at $547.50 each, which is for three nights at a hotel and parade viewing. Anytime on Nov. 22-24th, you can arrive for these packages. Four night packages run about $790 each. They also include hotel and Macy's parade.

Deals and Discount Packages for Thanksgiving Getaways

Specific hotels such as the Accor Novotel, Marriott, The Comfort Inn, and the Doubletree Hotel at Times Square offer vacation packages. Other web sites that offer great deals are Kayak and Expedia. Timing is everything. The quicker you pick your package, the better the chance of getting your first pick of hotel packages. Many of these packages are already sold out for 2010.
