The 7 Travel Bloggers You Need To Follow
One day when I was exploring Instagram, I stumbled across the profile of a guy who made money through traveling. At that moment, an imaginary light bulb lit up in my brain, and I fell in love with the idea of doing the same. As I explored more, I came across a whole community of people, who call themselves travel bloggers, who make a living by traveling the world and documenting their experiences. At this point, I could not get enough of the stories and photos that these people where sharing. And then it got better: I found that all of these people had Snapchat accounts where they took videos of all of the incredible things they did each day while traveling the world! I now follow so many bloggers, I can't keep track of them all. However, I have my personal favorites, and in this article I will be counting down my top 7 travel bloggers!
Disclaimer: These opinions are my own, and none of these people have ever contacted me asking me to promote their brand. This is just how I feel.
#7: The Blonde Abroad
The Blonde Abroad is run by Kiersten, and she quit her job in finance to become a world traveler. She is always traveling to the most beautiful places, and lets all of us know by posting perfectly artsy photos on her social media. Her infectious smile, bubbly personality, and clear love for the world will always keep you wanting more!
#6: Scott Intrepid Escape
Scott is the man. Really. He is from England, so he has an awesome accent. But seriously, there are many other reasons to love this guy. He is an adventurous traveler, and is always looking to try new things. Whether it is bungee jumping in New Zealand, sailing between the islands of Croatia, or horseback riding in Spain, his adventures are sure to inspire you. He is also strongly against littering of any kind, and will always pick up trash wherever he is. If you follow him on Snapchat, you will know that he also has a "song of the day" that he plays during his first snap of the day (often a panoramic video of an amazing view!). His taste in music is pretty good, so following him and his adventures will always make your day a little bit better.
#5: Adventurous Kate
Kate is a native of Boston, but recently moved to New York City. She has a great personality, and is a really down-to-earth kinda gal. When she isn't abroad, she is documenting her daily life in the Big Apple, so if you have never been to NYC, check her out! Kate is definitely a seasoned traveler who gives great tips and advice on how to travel adventurously and safely at the same time. As a solo female traveler, she carefully dodges any obstacles that may come her way. With her can-do attitude and travel know-how, she is a must follow for all types of people.
#4: Getting Stamped
Getting Stamped is run by Hannah and her husband, Adam. This couple is real #relationshipgoals. Traveling with a significant other can be tricky, but they manage to do it with love and ease. They are always having so much fun, and you can't help but be jealous of their life. Lately Hannah and Adam have spent a lot of time in tropical places, such as the Caribbean and the Maldives, so even those of us stuck in the snow and cold can have a chance to catch some rays! They use their drone to capture incredible views, which you can check out on their Instagram. Their pictures, as well as Hannah's personality, are full of color and happiness. After keeping up with their travels for a while, I promise you will be hooked!
#3: Backpack With Brock
Trying to watch Brock's Snapchat stories without smiling is impossible. He is such a fun, loving guy that you just want to see more of. He is undoubtedly the most positive person I have ever seen. He is always going on super fun adventures, whether he is walking the streets of London, or exploring ancient temples in Myanmar. He always seems to find friends when he travels, and it is not surprising; I don't know who wouldn't want to be this guys friend! Brock can also be found finding the yummiest treats wherever he is, and wathcing his Snapchat stories almost always ends with a rumbling tummy. When he isn't on the road, he is back home in Toronto. An added bonus of following Brock when he is in Toronto, is that you are bound to catch him visiting his adorable grandma. His grandma is the sweetest, cutest old lady you'll ever see, and she is not exactly camera-shy! Brock is one of my favorite bloggers, and watching his Snapchat stories always leaves me feeling better than I did before.
#2: My Life's A Movie
My Life's a Movie is run by Alyssa, who is a native Floridian turned Californian. She is an expert at solo female travel, and she isn't intimidated by anything. Alyssa travels on a budget, but is always sure to make the most of everything. She is known for her famous "looking away" selfie with her selfie stick, and she loves to get photos with no other people in them. She has a knack for capturing the best views, so you will never be disappointed. Alyssa is obsessed with waterfalls, and is always determined to find them. Even if it takes an arduous hike, she is always up for the challenge if a waterfall awaits her on the other side! Her funny, optimistic, and sometimes sassy personality will leave you inspired to travel immediately. She has mastered the art of solo female budget travel, but she appeals to all audiences. Follow her blog and social media to see her navigate the world in a fun way, because her life really is a movie!
#1: Drew Binsky
Drew is the guy that first inspired me. He realized that he loved to travel while studying abroad in college, and soon after moved to South Korea to teach English. He has since traveled to over 100 countries, documenting each amazing thing he has done. Some interesting things about Drew: he is an avid golfer, he eats at McDonald's in nearly every country he visits, and he is in love with Southeast Asia! If any of these things are of interest to you, I highly recommend following him. Drew is also willing to try anything. He will eat crazy foods, such as guinea pig or snake blood, and he will go to places that some people may deem "risky", like North Korea and the Middle East. He has recently started making videos about many of the places he has been, so his followers can better understand life in other places. His video about North Korea is incredible, and I urge everyone to go check it out on his blog or Facebook page. Drew is so fun to watch and he is always making the most of every situation. He has been such an inspiration to me, so go check him out!
Following all of these travel bloggers has made me realize that traveling and seeing the world is my passion. I always look forward to reading their blog posts, seeing their pictures on Instagram, and watching their daily activities on Snapchat. I have gained so much from following all of these people, and I hope that you can too!
