Virginia Key Is Truly A Tropical Paradise

Florida has some beautiful beaches and Virginia Key is a tropical paradise that people love to visit. You could actually shoot Survivor on Virginia Key and as you can see in the one photo Miami is there just over the horizon. But it is one of the most unspoiled places in Florida.

If your looking for a place where yours will be the only footprints and pelicans and dolphins play all around you then Virginia Key may be just the place for you. The historic Virginia Key Park is located at 4020 Virginia Beach Drive Key Biscayne.

There is plenty of free parking but be warned that it is very very busy on the weekends. Virginia Key Beach is quite often listed on various lists as one of the best beaches in Miami. Virginia Key Beach is located at 3701 Rickenbacker Causeway, Key Biscayne. The beach is open daily from 9 A.M. - 5 P.M. and there is an admission fee.

There is a tiny shack of a restaurant located there called Jimbo's. They actually do have pretty good food. Especially the smoked fish.

Bill Baggs Cape Florida State Park

The Bill Baggs Cape Florida State Park is one of if not the most beautiful places on earth. One of the best things is the historic lighthouse built in 1825 and it is the oldest standing man made structure anywhere in the area.

There is more than one mile of the most beautiful beach in Florida there in the park and people come there to sunbathe , walk , and play in the ocean there. Anglers can try their luck along the seawall along Biscayne Bay for some of the best shoreline fishing in the world.Kayaking is also a popular sport in the park.

Guided tours of the lighthouse keepers cottage and the lighthouse are given twice daily Thursdays - Mondays. Ask the person giving the tours about the ghost stories. Overnight boat camping is allowed in No Name Harbor. And there are two great restaurants located here called The Lighthouse Cafe , and The Boaters Grill. I can recommend either restaurant.

The lighthouse built in 1825 is one of my favorite places in Florida. I have always wanted to visit the lighthouse at night but so far I have not been able to. I know it would have to be so beautiful on a full moon night.

Lummus Park Beach , South Beach

Lummus Park Beach , South Beach is located in Miami Florida from 5th street to 23 street and this is the beach that people go to be seen on and people love to go here to watch other people. On Lummus Park Beach there is really no telling what famous person you may see walk by.

There are good waves and there is a surf area on the south end of the beach near the rocks. If your looking for a quite tranquil beach this isn't it. But it is well worth the extra effort it may take you to visit here. There are all kinds of restaurants , clubs , shops , and etc. located just off the beach. Parking can be hard here but if you look around you can find a parking space. Just be careful not to park in no parking areas because you will get towed.

You will find all kinds of other beaches in the area here. Ask in the shops and restaurants what beach you should visit. Safety especially for your belongings should be practiced here. Leave most of your money locked in the hotel room safe or in your car trunk. Keep a eye on your belongings. And in the evenings especially after dark stay near other people and the more crowded areas. The more public areas are usually well patrolled by the police so you are usually very safe. Just don't go into unlighted dark areas and you will have a happy and safe vacation.

I love Florida. Last summer was the first year I was able to go. I am from the West Coast. Which is of course beautiful but what I loved about Florida was how warm the water was. Beautiful Photos. Makes me want to go back again.
