Another spectacular alpine descent is to be found in the beautiful valley of Grindelwald in Switzerland. Like in Wales, four people can go down next to one another, which is perfect for friends or a family who want to share the experience. Grindelwald is perfectly situated for an exploration of the glorious Swiss Alps. The neighbouring valley of Lauterbrunnen was Tolkien's inspiration for Rivendell, and the Trummelbach Falls are an amazing sight.
