The Fairy Trail in Lily Dale

Updated on March 14, 2012

If you're visiting Lily Dale, one thing you should check out is the Fairy Trail. It is located near the Forest Temple, and isn't very long to walk, even for a weary traveler. While I had visited Lily Dale, New York before, it wasn't until my most recent trip that I discovered this little trail. It had been raining all day, and most of the outdoor events and services had been canceled. Since there wasn't much else to do, I decided to check out the various trails around this famed Spiritualist town.

You don't have to believe in fairies to be impressed with this little trail. While it seems geared towards children, a few adults (who shall remain nameless) have admitted to finding the fairy trail fun and full of whimsy. These nameless friends have even suggested that they too might indulge in creating a little fairy home to place along the trail in these woods.

To help shed a little light on this unusual trail for fellow travelers, I've compiled a group of photos and have created a slideshow you may view above. I suppose if I were a fairy I'd live in one of these creations, deep in the Leolyn Woods, too.
