The roads on the island of Curacao are really bad. There are potholes everywhere, unfinished roads, missing markings on the roads and so much more. This makes driving on the island pretty dangerous and it shows. Because of the bad condition of the roads, there are a lot of car accidents on the island.
There aren’t any metros, trams or trains on the island. Therefore, if you rely on public transportation the bus or a cab are your only options.
The economy on the island has been bad for many years. There are a lot of locals that live in poverty because of it. It’s hard to find a (good paying) job and the prices of daily items keep on rising. At the moment there are no signs of improvement concerning the economy.
