The Pyramids of Giza

The wonderful pyramids are beautifully set on a desert plateau of Giza in ancient Egypt. The legacy of the pyramids of Giza started during the the fourth dynasty under the leadership of Pharaoh Khufu. Khufu dreamed of a gigantic city that would pay homage to the dead. The result of this dream is the Cheops (Khufu) pyramid, which is up to this day, is the largest of all pyramids in Egypt. When you say the great pyramid of Giza, you are actually talking about Cheops. The second pyramid was built by Khufu's son Khephren, and is known for its steep angles, which creates an illusion that it is the same size as Cheops. The smallest of the three pyramids is the Menkaure, which was then built by Khephren's son. The Cheops (Khufu), Khepren, and the Menkaure make up the outstanding pyramids of Giza and who would ever think they will become the most outstanding places to visit in Egypt.
