Three Men on a Paddleboard ~ a Poem
Three Men on a Paddleboard
One mighty lord left his sword for a paddle
The third man bored to death did not want to be idle
So all three men met, aimed the lake for good times sake...
The mighty lord said, "My sword is even too dull to cut a steak!"
The second man said, "I should hit the waters and loosen the ache!"
The third man thought and grunted, "What the hell? This surely will keep me awake!"
So the three men held their knees firm, stood strong, and paddled...
Then, they exchanged each a promise of content:
"No more dull sword, once fine armour of steel", said mighty lord Kent.
"My horse can rest and play", said the second man from Brent.
"I’m on board on Sundays after church”, promised the third gent,
“to keep me from tedious torment."
...and so, the three men on a paddleboard.
