Well Worth It Amusement Parks

1. Cedar Point (Sandusky, Ohio): This is the second oldest amusement park in America. It has an amazing seventy two attractions (which is a world record), including fifteen roller coasters. It also has an indoor water park for the winter birds (people) who still enjoy getting out of the house and yet, being able to do such activities. This is a great idea! This goes along with the theme of the outdoor water park. They are known for their other attractions as well as they are known for their rides. They have country music shows, and ice skating arena and a theater, and a saloon. My favorite ride would have to be Wind Seeker which was basically swings from the 175 foot tower. Not for the faint of heart!

2. Disney World (Orlando, Florida): This park is separated into two different parks. MGM Studios is similar to Universal Studios with movie rides such as the very scary, Twilight Zone: Tower of Terror, is just one of the many rides found here. Also, this theme park is famous for Mickey Mouse and it's theme rides and many shows. Space Mountain, and the rock and roller coaster are my two favorite rides. This park is most definitely America's mist visited theme oral as travelers from all over the world visit Disney World every year.

3. Disneyland (Anaheim, California): Disneyland has fifty eight rides mainly based on Disney characters. They have a year round Haunted Mansion, Railroad ride through the park, Mickey Mouse Parade and a seasonal fireworks show. My favorite rides at the park are Space Mountain and The Indiana Jones Adventure.

4. Universal Studios (Orlando, Florida): This amusement and Theme park has two parks in one. Universal features unique rides that feature 4-D and other visuals that are strictly Universal Specialties. You ride the movies and get to see what it feels like to star as you get attacked by Jaws on a boat, shoot aliens in a moving car on Men in Black and fly through space on E.T. and Back to the Future. The park has twelve (12) other rides and various shows.

5. Knott's Berry Farm (Buena Park, California): This park has over forty rides including nine roller coasters and four other thrill rides. The park is also famous for Indian Trails which showcases Indian arts and crafts. My favorite ride at this park is The Mine Ride, which is a roller coaster that goes into a mining excavation.

6. Island's of Adventure (Orlando, Florida): This park is the amusement park section of Universal Studios and it features live special effects shows and a live Aladdin pirate stunt show. The park has two extreme roller coasters which are The Incredible Hulk and The Dueling Dragons. The Dueling dragons is unique because, two separate coasters start to approach each other head on, in a game of chicken if you will. My top rides at this park are Jurassic Park, which ends with you flying down a roller coaster hill face first towards T- Rex. And also Dr. Doom's Fear fall which is a 200 foot drop.

7. Busch Gardens (Tampa Bay, Florida): This amusement park features seven roller coasters, six thrill rides along with many shows but it is unique from most parks because it has a built in zoo. The zoo has over 2500 animals and other species. The park is themed after Africa. My favorite ride is the Cheetah Hunt because it launches you three times through tubes to really give you that space ship launch feeling.

8. Kings Island (Mason, Ohio): This amusement and water park is situated on over 360 acres of land. The park has thirteen roller coasters. It is famous for The Country Safari Ride, which takes riders through a jungle of animals in their natural habitat. My favorite ride at this park is Invertigo, which is an inverted boomerang roller coaster.

9. Six Flags Over Texas (Arlington, Texas): This park is located on over two hundred acres and has almost sixty total rides including twelve roller coasters. They also have several events throughout the year including, live concerts, Latino Festivals, Halloween Haunted Houses and a Christmas light show. This is an amusement park that truly has something for everyone. My favorite ride easily at this park is Superman Tower of Power. It holds the record for the tallest free fall tower drop in the world standing at a whopping three hundred twenty-five feet.

10. Kings Dominion (Doswell, Virginia): This park has a twenty acre water park and the amusement park is over three hundred acres. The park has over sixty rides and a 3-D movie theater. My favorite two rides at the park are Wave Swinger (this spinning ride swings you thirty (30) feet in the air. Anaconda: the first roller coaster to go underwater in a tunnel.
