The Top State And Territory Tourist Locations: T-V

Updated on April 22, 2016

Every area has a prime tourist location. Do you know what the top tourist site is in your State or Territory?

The Frog has decided to go alphabetically through the States and Territories answering what the top tourist site is in each one. Several sources will be used. You may not agree with your area's pick. Use the comments section and tell us what you think it is.

You can see the first six hubs in this series at these links:

The goal is to give people ideas on something they can do with their family or alone. If you really consider all, you really do not have to travel very far to have a great vacation.

In most circumstances, I will attempt to link the site's website. I will also search for pictures if possible.

Ok, let's see what the top tourist sites are

Off to Tennessee. A beautiful State with a lot to offer.

So what is the top tourist site in Tennessee?

If you go to Nashville, you will find the Grand Ole Opry and the top site for Tennessee visitors. Take in a show or two and you will understand why so many musicians want to play at this venue.

Some of the very best country stars of all time have played in the Grand Ole Opry.

Let's all bring back to life the Murder On Music Row that George and Alan sing about here at the Grand Ole Opry. Visit this wonderful place and bring back country music!

Texas is a huge State and there are many tourist attractions.

Are you thinking about what the top destination would be in Texas?

I remembering watching an old movie about this site years ago. It had to have been one of my all-time favorite movies, and it was a true story.

The top site in Texas is The Alamo in San Antonio. In the Texas revolution, men held out for 13 days battling the forces of Santa Anna. Two highly recognized men died defending the Alamo; Jim Bowie, who the Bowie Knife is named after, and the famous Davy Crockett.

The Alamo will always be remembered as one of the keys as to why Texas is a State of the United States of America and not a part of Mexico.

Utah has many beautiful mountains and sites that make other States jealous. So which of these are the top tourist attraction in Utah?

The top visited site in Utah is in Salt Lake City. It is Temple Square, the home of the main Mormon Church.

Many people flock to Salt Lake City to see this. I don't know if they are Mormons or not, but they go to see the Mecca of Mormonism.

Vermont is an absolutely beautiful State.

Tourists to Vermont have chose a stunning site to have as their #1 destination.

It is Wilson Castle in Center Rutland, Vermont. this amazing piece of architecture sits on 115 acres. It has 3 floors with 32 rooms. There are 84 stained glass windows and 13 fireplaces. Many couples have their weddings at this magnificent structure.

Wilson Castle is the place to visit when you choose Vermont as your next vacation get-away. Just follow the map to get there.

Virginia has many interesting sites that any tourist would want to see. So many are very educational.

The top site is not necessarily educational, but a whole lot of fun.

The most visited site in Virginia is Busch Gardens Amusement Park.

Ride the roller coasters and eat cotton candy. There is fun all over the place at Busch Gardens of Virginia.

You will find it just outside Williamsburg, Virginia.

Virgin Islands

In 1916, the United States bought the Virgin Islands from the Danish. All of these islands are now commonwealth of the United States.

The Virgin Island are a complete tourist attraction all by themselves. The top choice out of the attractions there is the Virgin Islands National Park on the island of St John.

You can camp if you have reservations. There are many hiking trails and wildlife everywhere. Trunk Bay Beach is a part of the park.

Go to the Virgin Islands and enjoy the National Park.

That's it for this edition. One more to go.

Stay tuned, it will be coming soon.
