What to do at the Disneyland Park?
At the Disneyland Park, the first thing you want to do is go to City Hall and request FREE "Just Married" buttons. You and your fiancé get to wear these pins around the park and all of the Disneyland characters and staff will congratulate you on your recent marriage. It's a lot of fun and adds a special touch to your honeymoon. Saying thank you never gets old because you are still in just married bliss. Those around you waiting in line for rides will often congratulate you as well and ask you questions about your wedding and honeymoon helping you make conversation and pass time in the lines. Sometimes the staff will even be sure to give you your choice of seat location on rides or allow you to ride twice if the park isn't too busy. Disneyland offers dozens of rides and attractions and you should definitely do your research and decide ahead of time which ones are a priority because you won't have time for it all in one day. A few of the romantic attractions are dining at the Blue Bayou, taking a tram ride around the park and sharing a bench seat in the It's a Small World attraction.
What to do at Disney California Adventure?
The absolute first stop on your day at California Adventure should be to grab a fast pass for The Color Show. This is a must see water, color show that happens around 9pm as the park is closing. It is an breath taking, romantic and heart stopping Disney production, and the area you view the show from can get crowded quickly. The fast pass allows you access to the front areas of the water deck. Unless you purchase a dinner package it is standing room only and it's highly recommended to arrive 30 to 40 minutes early so you can grab a space in the "splash zone" on the boardwalk. If you stay on the entrance end of the boardwalk you should only experience a light comfortable misting from the water. California Adventure is filled with amazing Pixar animation from movies you and your new Husband or Wife are sure to love. Cars Land, A Bugs Life Theater and California Screamin are just a few of the attractions that are a must for this park. California Adventure also offers alcoholic beverages making it more of an adult experience, just be sure to always drink responsibly and stay hydrated while you're enjoying the park.
Dining in the Parks
In Disneyland Park you have several dining options. Many are geared toward a younger audience but there are several delicious food options like burgers, pizza and salads. The most attractive place to eat for newlyweds is the Blue Bayou restaurant. This restaurant is situated inside of the Pirates of the Caribbean ride along the water. Dining is lit by candlelight and the whole experience is very romantic. Be sure to make reservation well in advance, they accept them up to six months in advance and the earlier you get your name on the list the better. It's a good idea to let them know it will be your honeymoon and you would like a table near the water for the best views. Inside California Adventure don't forget to stop at the Cozy Cone in cars land where you can get ice cream and popcorn served in adorable construction cone containers. Wine Country Trattoria at the Golden Vine Winery is also located in California Adventure and is a nice place to relax and enjoy Mediterranean food and delicious local wines. You will forget you are even in a theme park at this quiet serene restaurant with excellent service staff. For casual dining stop by Flo's V8 cafe in cars land or Boardwalk Pizza and Pasta.
