Although there are truly gorgeous parks all over Phuket, Khao Phra Thaeo is a national park that is located on the island's north side that is really something special.  This virgin rainforest is so beautiful that it is hypnotizing.

If you are looking to see stunning waterfalls to take some unbelievable photos, Bang Pae and Tonsai waterfalls find their homes there for you to enjoy.

Additionally, Sirinath National Park is sure to capture your attention with its unique Eco-system and saltwater lagoons.  You will see plenty of rare animal and plant life at this park in Phuket.

Phuket Shrines and Temples

Phuket is considered an important host in regards to Thailand's history. Wat Chalong Temple offers the city's history to hundreds of thousands of visitors per year. Also, one of Thailand's most important landmarks, the Phuket Big Buddha is found here.

Centuries ago, many Chinese people emigrated to Phuket, bringing culture that is now represented in many shrines around the island and certainly worth seeing.

In addiiton to the adrenaline fix that is offered with all of the water activties in Phuket, there are also plenty of other adventurous things to do such as rock climbing, horseback riding and bungee jumping as well.

Phuket Fresh Markets

While the exquisite Asian shopping malls are well-known in Phuket, you certainly cannot miss the wonderful outdoor market that not only sells goods but also cooks up some of the freshest and best Thai food you will find to eat anywhere.

The Phuket fresh markets are packed full of fruits and vegetables that are grown locally, art, jewelry, clothing and household goods.  Red snappers, squid and fresh tuna are also commonly served there on a bed of rice for those that aren't so in love with vegetables the way that I am.
