This is good stuff. Living in England we don't get much access to this type of information. Personally I like finding out about the small, out of the way places that nobody really mentions but with a bit of digging, often have a wealth of history to be found.

You have a very cool vibe going on here with your "Top 5 Things to Do in ___________" niche, Tony. Great job, my friend!

A female therapist I know did quite a bit of her studies in Bakersfield. The impression I got from her and a few others is that there wasn't much to do in that city. Your hub enlightened me to the fact that either they didn't like country music or they weren't looking hard enough.

Thanks for sharing, and I wish you an eventful and memorable weekend. Aloha!

I was interested in reading this hub because when I lived in Dayton, OH I had a neighbor from Bakersfield, CA. I often wondered how it looked. She always said that she missed it. I love to travel and to read about places I either would like to visit or plan to visit. I'm glad I found your site.
