A Brief Overview

The Mall of America resides in Bloomington, Minnesota and it is the largest mall in America. The mall has 520 stores and hundreds of attractions to go along with it. The mall opened it's doors in 1992 and every single year it has more shoppers and visitors than any other mall in the entire world. The mall has three levels of shopping and entertainment. The 4th and final floor up is full of bars, clubs and music.

Aquarium @ The Mall of America

The Aquarium is an amazing experience that you walk through and become one with ocean life. The underground tunnel has sharks, swordfish and sting rays right before your eyes.

The Underwater Aquarium

A 300 ft walk awaits you with swirling water as you pass through an amazing place. The Sea Life Minnesota Aquarium. Almost 5,000 creatures of the ocean, including sharks, are all around you they offer scuba diving as well which is awesome! You can take photos and video of this area so I suggest you do it because it will turn out to be a fantastic memory.

Fairly Odd Coaster

This roller coaster is called The Fairly Odd Coaster and it is located at Nickelodeon Universe inside the mall and it is the largest indoor theme park in the United States.

My Favorite Stores @ Mall of America

Hard Rock Cafe
Buckle
Lucky Brand
Apple Store
True Religion
Coach
Spencer Gifts
Victoria's Secret
Engrave Your Memory

ISmart Massager

These are my favorite ten stores out of the 520 stores at the mall.

Nickelodeon Universe (Amusement Park)

Nickelodeon Universe has lots of rides and attractions themed off of Nickelodeon shows and cartoons. The Fairly Odd roller coaster is the most famous ride at the park. It has another coaster and a few other thrill rides too! A 18 hole mini golf course is mixed in the center of the rides and it is, of course, themed after Nick characters.

Movie Theaters @ Mall of America

The Theaters at Mall of America is a unique experience to say the least. It has a unique 3D seating arena for 3D enabled movies which is even better than the standard 3D at movie theaters.

The Theater

The movie theater has stadium seating, 3D Films, I Max and very humongous screens. Also, Instead of just soft drinks, this place is cooking up meals for you to eat on off of trays while you enjoy the feature.

The 21+ theater is cool for couples because it serves adult beverages and has amazing recliner and lazy boy chair feels to the comfort afforded it's guests.

The Log Ride @ Mall of America

Mall of America even has a log water ride complete with big hills inside the middle of the mall. The rocky mountain look and river steam travel is entertaining.

Water Ride and Flight Simulator

The log ride is awesome because it cruises you through shopping areas and the main hill is pretty high and it allows you to get a descent view of part of the mall.

The A.C.E.S. Flight Simulation Center is amazing as it lets you control modern or old WW2 jets in a simulation mode that is the same that is used in training the military. It's intense and really seems like it is happening.

Other Unique Places and Happenings

The mall has some regular events and new attractions that appear yearly especially music concerts with famous bands and musicians. Annually the Holiday Light Show is amazing and filled with wondrous lights and Christmas lighting that will blow your mind.

WWE Wrestling, Circus acts, and even BMX biking competitions have been held in this mega-mall if you will.

Swimming Pools @ Mall of America

The Mall of America has a Best Western Plus on location with a swimming pool and mini water park. The service was as good as I have ever had at this place.

Lodging and Food

Several Hotels and Casinos are nearby to be sure but at the actual mall itself Hotels and Suites are all around including: Best Western Plus, Radisson Blu, Hilton Airport Suites, and the Country Inn and Suites. I stayed at Best Western Plus for two days Country Inn one day. The Radisson Blu and Hilton were outrageously high even with online specials but Best Western and Country Inn were reasonable. Both had huge pools and mini water parks. Of course, both suites have bars and a restaurant which offers room service.

The third level of the mall has two separate food courts with over 20 places to eat. Level two has the nice sit down restaurants at every turn. I will just comment on the places I ate. I have no complaints at all. I went to Bubba Gump Shrimp Co., Cadillac Ranch (Delicious Steaks), Hard Rock Cafe, Famous Dave's BBQ, and Ruby Tuesday. I also ate breakfast at McDonald's twice, lol. All four floors of the mall actually offer eating areas whether it be fast food, restaurants or snack stands with donuts, bagels and coffee.

Lego at Mall of America

The Lego section is a favorite for children who visit the Mall of America. It has LEGO toys and huge Lego displays and new Lego creations on display.

Zip Line at Mall of America

Lego and Zip Line

LEGO is cool for children and adults to a degree. A robot built of LEGO is standing in the store and he is 35 feet tall and a great guy to take a picture with. Although you can shop for LEGO products it is also a place for fun such as play areas with LEGO's that cannot be found in any other spot except here.

The Zip Line is the largest indoor zip line in the U.S. and it is a rush but the best part is the fast moving view of the mall below you and at times the eye level view as you zip across the mall.

The mall is cool but as I live in Mn it's ho hum to me but really is quite spectacular. When it first opened it had a great variety of really unique restaurants but many are closed now. I love the Leggo land as it is really cool. Great hub
