Top Ten Holiday Destinations 2012

Updated on January 14, 2013

Travel the World in 2012

Tourism in 2012 once again is being dictated by the current financial climate and travellers this year are looking for the best Vacation possible on a tight budget.

lesser known destinations are becoming more popular because they are cheaper and the cost of living in these countries means that the traveller gets bargain prices in the stores and markets compared to what they would pay back at home.

Cheap does not mean nasty and the real upside is that what you pay for a 5 star accommodation in the lesser known destinations would cost the same as you would normally pay for a 2 star accommodation in some of the more well known destinations.

A cheap holiday in 2012 could see you living in luxury being waited on hand and foot and you could be enjoying the splendours normally reserved for the elite of society.

In the 2012 Top 10 Travel Destinations list you will see some new additions from previous years as well as some destinations that will never go out of vogue.

Eastern Europe seems to be the hot travel destination of the year-- I'm thinking that for both Western Europeans and North Americans it has a lot to offer.

I used to live in Las Vegas. Christmas is a great time to go if you like the cold. The best time to visit though is February/March and October. It sucks to live there, though...

Wow Bulgaria! I have never thought about traveling to the country, but with this new information about it's beach and warm climate I now have to consider! Some refer to Las Vegas as the city that never sleeps, I think the same can be said about New York City. With something to do at every minute of the day for just about anyone, I think this place can be called the everyday person's option for "the city that never sleeps".

      All in all great Hub!

Good hub, Jimmy ... many of these are the 'usual suspects' but it's useful to have them rounded up and get a resume of their good points.

Sadly, I've no money to even have the boat trip in Scotland ... but I do dream of a trip to Prague at Christmastime to see the Christmas Markets. Maybe if I do well on HP this year?

Happy New Year, Jimmy - looks like you had a good Hogmanay from the profile pic :)

Lots of good ideas here, Jimmy, though the only one I've ever been to is Prague. I would love to visit more of them. Hope you have a great 2012 and get to have a trip like this yourself. Think I'll be limited to West Coast fishing trips again! :)
