There have many tourist spots in Bangladesh with different attractions. The attractions include natural beauty, rich culture, ancient history and diversified foods.

Bangladesh is a country located in the Southern part of Asia, with a border with India at its north, east and west. Dhaka is the capital of this country and the central business and commercial hub of the country.

Bangladesh's interesting places are spotted throughout the country that represents the country's history, culture, ancient relics, and the natural beauty.

You will be able to see the world's longest sandy sea beach, largest mangrove forest, spectacular hill tracts, all in Bangladesh. On the other hand, you will also see some of the oldest mosques, forts and many other archaeological sites in Bangladesh.

As a traveler put the following places on your list to visit in Bangladesh.

1. Cox's Bazar Sea Beach

Cox's Bazar is one of the most popular tourist attractions Bangladesh. This is also the most romantic place in Bangladesh. Newly married couples come to this exotic town to spend their honeymoon. Not only honeymoon, Cox's Bazar is suitable to visit for the people of all ages all the year round. It takes about 8-10 hours by road and 1 hour by air to reach Cox's Bazar from the capital Dhaka.

The most notable fact of this beach is, this is the longest unbroken sandy sea beach in the world. The length of this beach is 120 km. Cox's Bazar beach was nominated for the 7 Natural Wonders of the World.

This city is tourist friendly. All the modern facilities for a tourist is offered here. Cox's Bazar hotels are easy to find and book onsite or online. You can find here world-class hotels, different dining options, local shopping and wonderful people.

This is a perfect place for the beach lovers.

2. Saint Martin's Island

The only coral island in Bangladesh is the St. Martin island. Located at the southern end of Bangladesh, this island is an exciting place to indulge yourself in nature. The local name of this island is "Narikel Jinjira" (coconut garden), and it truly is. Spectacular coconut trees, crystal clear water, calm beach and varied seafood has made this island one of the best tourist destinations in Bangladesh. St. Martins island can be reached from Teknaf by boat, that takes around 2-3 hours. Teknaf can be reached by road from anywhere in Bangladesh.

3. Kaptai Lake in Rangamati

Kaptai lake is the center of attraction of Rangamati, one of the three hill districts of Chittagong hill tracts. Rangamati is located 304 km northeast from Dhaka. This is one of the most naturally beautiful places in Bangladesh.

Kaptai lake is a natural lake that was created because of the Kaptai dam, the only hydroelectric dam in Bangladesh.

Kaptai lake is a great place to spend a whole day by hopping the tiny islands in the lake. You can enjoy outstanding foods of the tribes, see the Shuvolong waterfalls, or take a nature walk in the eco village. All of these can be done in the small islands in the Kaptai lake.

4. Nilgiri Hill in Bandarban

Nilgiri hill is probably the most visited place in Bandarban. It is located 12 km from Bandarban town.

Bandarban is a hill district located southeastern part of Bangladesh and one of the three hill tract districts. The tallest peak of Bangladesh Keokradong is located in Bandarban.

Among all the attractions in Bandarban, Nilgiri is the most popular to the tourists. This hill is about 3500 feet high and beautifully arranged with several viewpoints, restaurants, and cottages. There is a resort named Nilgiri Resort is located at the top of the hill.

5. Sajek Valley in Rangamati

Sajek valley is one of the emerging tourist attractions in Bangladesh. You will find high mountains, thick woodland, sprawling meadows and miles and miles of sloping tracks. You can experience the lifestyle of the ethnic groups by visiting their villages in Sajek. The most appealing view is the sunset and sunrise. This place is also popular to watch the clouds below which makes a heavenly view of the entire area.

Sajek is situated in the Rangamati district but it is near from Khagrachari. So, tourists travel to this place from Khagrachari. From Khagrachari town, it is only 67 km. to the northeast.

Sajek valley has few resorts to spend the night which is well decorated and properly facilitated. You can enjoy the valley by visiting nearby villages, watching sunrise and sunset, relax at the resort and enjoy charcoal bar-b-q and local cultural shows.

6. Sundarban Forest

Sundarban is the largest single block mangrove forest in the world that comprises 10,000 sq. km (3,900 sq mi). This forest is distributed in both Bangladesh and India but most of the part is in Bangladesh which is about 6000 sq.km.(2,300 sq mi). The forest is located in the southern part of Bangladesh.

It is located in Khulna district, about 210 km. from Dhaka. There is no direct flight from Dhaka to Khulna but the nearby airport is in Jessore which is only 40 km. away.

Sundarban tour is mostly based on the boat tour. There is no driveway inside this forest. So, you'll have to cruise to go deep inside the forest. Many Sundarban tour packages are organized by the local tour operators in Bangladesh. The tour packages include on board lodging and food in the launch, guided walk in the forest, armed guards and interesting sites visit.

7. Jaflong in Sylhet

Jaflong is a riverside destination located near the Indian border at Sylhet, a district at the northeastern part of Bangladesh. This is one of the most scenic spots in Bangladesh.

Jaflong is a picturesque spot adjacent in the midst of tea greenery enclosures and uncommon beauty of stones from slopes. Jaflong is a major source of stones for the whole country. These stones are mainly used in constructions and other heavy industries, as well as at homes for grinding grains.

Not only the natural beauty, Jaflong is the home of the Khasi tribe. Visitors can see the lifestyle of the tribes and enjoy their hospitality.

8. Kuakata Sea Beach

Kuakata is another beach destination in Bangladesh. Kuakata is located at the southern end of Bangladesh. This is the only beach from where you can watch the sunrise and sunset, because of its strategical geographic position. It is 384 km south of Dhaka. Kuakata can be reached by the road that takes around 10 hours from the capital. Nearby airport is in Barishal, which is about 3 hours drive from Kuakata.

The beautiful beach, the life of the fishermen and their activities, delicious seafood and the ancient ethnic lifestyle are the main attraction of Kuakata.

As a beach destination, accommodation facilities are developing fast here. The other infrastructural, dining and entertainment facilities are also developing gradually. This is one of the most emerging tourist destination of Bangladesh.

9. Sonargaon - The Ancient Capital

Sonargaon is one of the most interesting places in Bangladesh. Located only 31 km southeast of Dhaka, Sonargaon was the ancient capital of this region during the Mughal era. Now this place has been established as the folklore museum of Bangladesh.

As the old capital, it holds the old relics of the city. Today, Sonargaon is home to some of the oldest buildings in Bangladesh. Here lived the administrators, high officials and upper class citizens. The Panam city in Sonargaon displays this truth as there are many old offices, villas and palaces can be found here.

10. Dhaka Old Town

Dhaka is the capital of Bangladesh. A visit to Bangladesh is not finished without exploring the diverse culture and history of this city.

The old part of Dhaka was the center of this city in early ages. The bank of the river Buriganga was the center of establishments and developments of this city. Therefore, you will find ancient monuments, forts, palaces and extraordinary food in this part of Dhaka.

The attractions not to miss in old Dhaka are - the Lalbagh Fort, Ahsan Manzil, Dhakeshwari Temple, Armenian Church, Armenian Church, Baldha Gardens, Curzon Hall.

Old Dhaka is also famous for its delicious and varieties of food and drinks and yogurts. Biriani, Kabab, Bakarkhani, Lassi and thousands of food other menus are really worth tasting for foodies.
