Breathtaking and Beautiful

Breathtaking beautiful Banff, Alberta is situated amidst the Rocky Mountains in Canada. It forms part of Banff National Park, the first national park that was established in the country. One just has to breathe in the fresh mountain air and enjoy the gorgeous, scenic view to appreciate what a unique and relaxing vacation spot this is.


Experience Banff

Banff National Park is one of the finest attractions in Canada and one would be remiss not to take the opportunity to visit it. It provides an experience of a lifetime. Be sure to take in the emerald colored water of Lake Louise. The natural hot springs are a favorite of many tourists.

This one of a kind travel destination boasts a combination of mountains, valleys, forests, rivers, glaciers and trails. An abundance of gorgeous wildflowers can be found throughout the park, including the Wild Rose (provincial flower), Prairie Crocus, Yellow Lady's Slipper and Wild Strawberries.


Banff Attractions

International travelers and local Albertans alike should include Banff National Park in their travel plans. Many make time in their agenda to dine at the historic Lake Louise Station Restaurant. The original train station house was built in 1910. The site has been preserved and upgraded and make for a truly memorable dining experience. There are art galleries in the park that feature original artwork handcrafted by Canada's First Nations' artists. While there, be sure to take in the Banff National Museum, a museum of natural history. It is said to be one of the best museums in Canada and focuses on much of the wildlife found in the area.

Much wildlife inhabits the park. You are likely to see elk, white-tailed deer and caribou. Snowshoe hare and lynx live high in the evergreen forests of Banff National Park. Black bears and grizzly bears make their home in the park as well and at times, the park posts closures to areas that bears have recently been spotted.

For the Sports Enthusiasts

For the sports enthusiast, Banff National Park is the perfect vacation spot with almost 8,000 acres of land. For the adventurer in you, you can partake in horseback riding, mountain climbing, whitewater rafting, skiing, snowboarding, snowshoeing, and mountain biking or hiking. There is even a 5 star golf course on site for the golfers' pleasure.

      Nice hub :) I am a New Englander so my Canadian experience has been mostly of Quebec, Ontario and Nova Scotia but I've always wanted to visit the National Parks of British Columbia, now I'll have to add Alberta to my list as well. Thanks for sharing :)
