Travel in Thailand
Bangkok is a busy city that buzzes 24 hours a day and chaos reigns. The arrivals hall at the airport will give you a small indication of the chaotic city that you are about to visit. Touts abound once you are through immigration and and into the airport concourse. Most of the touts will be trying to offer over priced taxi or limousine services to Bangkok or Pattaya so pass them and make your way to the taxi stand. You will most likely be met by a long queue of travellers trying to make their way out to the mystical delights of Thailand.
There are an abundance of taxis in Bangkok so you will soon be in a meter taxi on your way to your destination. The trip along the freeway is quick until you get to the Bangkok traffic. Traffic in some areas of Bangkok is very congested and that is why you will see why there are a lot of motorbikes. Make sure you leave plenty of time for your journey back to the airport just in case.
Accommodation can be found very easily and with so much, booking is not essential. If you are not staying in a low-budget hotel, you will get a much better rate if you book on one of the many booking agents online. Just do a quick Google search.
