Go Somewhere on a Budget

Updated on August 30, 2017

Cruising on a Budget

Cunard is one of the world's most expensive cruise lines, charging at over $1000 per person for a two-night cruise in Europe. You, as the budget traveler (nothing to be ashamed of), don't like that. Instead, try Carnival Cruise Lines. It releases new ships every two years or so, and with every new ship comes new attractions unique to that ship! A suite on an 8-day cruise will only cost you around $4800 for a family of three. Sure, sometimes Carnival trips can be a bit crowded, but it won't really matter, as long as you've got a spacious cabin. Plus, Carnival offers some of the most fun shore excursions there are. Or, stay on the ship and enjoy a less-crowded pool area.

Airfare

Airfare can be somewhat expensive, but as the budget traveler, you can find good deals online.

Let's say you're travelling with your husband, or your wife, and two children, so you'll need a lot of seats in the cabin, for the lowest cost. I'm no expert on airfare, but Kayak.com can provide you with the best deals, for the best price (Not Sponsored). Even I tried it once, and even if your budget is below $600, you can still fly to all of the US mainland, and even Vancouver, if you're departing from Toronto.

Isn't that just great?

Note: all prices are in coach class, per 1 adult

Currency Change

Currency also matters. If you live in the US, Japan, inside the European Union or China, you use the USD, the JPY, the Euro, and the CNY, then you're in luck! With your currency, most countries have less strong currency.

Example: 1 USD = 1.27 Australian Dollars (as of August 30, 2017).

Therefore, for 1 US dollar, you get more Australian dollars, which, when you think about it, means you can spend more in Australia, when technically you're actually spending less than a traveler from another country.

Most Caribbean countries and dependencies have their own currency, and many of those are lesser value or equal to the USD or any major currency.

Example: 1 USD = 1.79 Aruban Florin.

Currency can mean either spending a thousand dollars, or just a few hundred
