Bend or Bust
...and Away We Go!
When my brother announced [from the other side of the country] that he was getting married, I announced [from our side of the country] that we were definitely going. I wasn't sure how, but I was not about to miss the big event.
Our daughter ended up traveling with my parents via train - she could not fly because of the pressure (and the risk of additional hearing loss). Thankfully, it all came together and we decided this trip would be our "better late than never" honeymoon :o)
We still haven't traveled much - two whole trips in 20 years of marriage works out to a trip per decade (and both were before we got the horses :o) Bend was definitely a wonderful place to visit, and I encourage anyone who travels to check it out.
Find your way around - OR: Where the heck are we??
Pretty as a postcard
This awesome wood carving dominates one wall in the Redmond Airport
The scenery is breathtaking
Outdoor activities are big out there!
With its majestic mountains and more... - Here are some pages from my scrapbook for you to enjoy
I didn't realize how much I'd missed seeing mountains until I got my film developed (I'd taken pictures of just about every one there was - six ways from Sunday :o)
Snow in the summertime... - Can you imagine??
My brother promised he'd find my daughter some snow to play in on our trip. Living in south Alabama, there isn't much in the way of snowfall (and I wanted her to see it at least once ;o) As you can see he delivered - she even got to do some sledding!
A picture perfect wedding in the National Forest... - The prettiest place to say "I Do", naturally :o)
Married on a bridge over crystal clear water with the National Forest as a backdrop ~ is there a more perfect setting? The weather was freezing that morning (30s), but by the afternoon it was in the mid to upper 70s and fabulous!
Sunriver offered us both seclusion and serenity ...... It was lovely!
Would you believe a guy did this with a chainsaw? Bing-Bang-Boom-DONE! (wow)
So tell me, are you a fairweather friend?
I'm not too big on either temperature extreme, but I guess prefer a slightly warmer climate. How about you?
