Every year, thousands of tourists visit in India to enjoy the natural beauty and climate of different parts of it. There are many places that really boast about its beauty and people feel great to visit them.

Out of such tourist places, Udaipur in India can be considered as the must-visit spot in a life time.

Udaipur-The City of lakes, is one of the most beautiful city located in Rajasthan state, India.

Udaipur is famous for its beautiful lakes which offer joyful boat riding and beautiful sightseeing along with other places to visit.

There is a very interesting story behind the emergence of this city. It is believed that there was a king who once met a saint at this place. The saint advised the king to construct a city here and shift his whole capital to the present Udaipur.

Places to visit in Udaipur.


This place was built in 1884 by the king Sajjan Singh of Mewar Dynasty. Sajjan Garh has a wildlife sancturaty Sajjan Garh in Udaipur was built by king Sajjan Singh in 1884.

Sajjan Garh has one more name, "Monsoon Palace" as it was originally built to get the view of monsoon clouds.

Pichola is one of the largest lakes of Udaipur. It is sourrunded with temples, bathing ghats and hills. Rudyard Kipling has also mentioned lake Pichola in his letters of Marque, "If the Venetian owned the Pichola Lake, he might say with justice, 'see it and die' ".

Lake Pichola is famous for its natural beauty, photographic and boat riding.

The City Palace is a huge complex which has a number of pillars and rooms inside this. Maharana Udai Singh II started its construction and too around 300 years to finish this.

The building is a unique combination of Rajasthani and Mughal architectural styles and provides best sightseeing destinations.

Saheliyon Ki Bari is a beautiful garden built by the king Sangram Singh in the 19th century for his queen. The queen would come with her maids to relax in the garden.

The beauty of this garden is unmatched with its fountains, green-lush garden and the marvelled elephants. The place was believed to be the favourite relaxing spot for the royal ladies and they would often come with their companions to stroll around.

Fateh Sagar lake is an artificial lake which is located in the city of Udaipur.

The lake derived its name from the King Maharana Fateh Singh of Udaipur who constructed this lake in 1680s. Fateh Sagar lake is located to the north-west direction of Udaipur.

The lake supports ground water recharge for drinking, agricultural and industrial purposes. The lake also provides employment to around 60 percent of Udaipur population.
