VW Curtains

Updated on September 14, 2013

Camper Curtains

The VW camper industry is alive and well, none more so than the niche market of supplying custom made camper curtains. A quick check on Google and you will see what I mean.

Probably the single biggest way to transform your vdub camper is to give it a makeover of new fabrics, curtains or even blinds.

You can now choose from hundreds of different fabric designs from all over the internet and even offline. A visit to a VW show and you will find many side stalls selling their wares in ready made kits for your make of VW camper.

What a transformation.

Just by repacing something as simple as your interior fabrics can increase the comfort factor as well as making your beloved VW a real home from home.

It seems that almost everywhere you look thesedays there is VW Camper just begging to be restored to it's former glory inside as well as outside.

One of the reasons for writing this article was because I have seen so many Campers whilst on my travels around Cambridgeshire, Norfolk and Lincolnshire over the summer months. I even came across the curtain industry alive and well in Holbeach Hurn in the form of VW Camper Curtains Ltd. They run a web site and is a real cottage industry. Check out their web site to see for yourself,

Choose your taste and style.

With hundreds of fabrics around to choose from you can brighten up your Camper in a weekend. You maybe an enthusiast or just have an interest in VW's, either way you can research what is available today by clicking on some of the links in this article or even pop along to a VW show coming up in your area over the coming months.

Maybe the orange number in the picture to the right is too garish for your tastes but it will give you an idea of what is possible.

For more of an idea what is around at the moment you can go to the links section at the bottom to see the array of web sites around for you to choose the curtains and fabrics you like.

How about one of these?

What about buying and restoring?

Although a big job to undertake, restoring your very own VW Camper van would not only mean new curtains it could mean complete nut and bolt refurbishment. Are you ready to start the search for your vdub or are you like me and a bit of a dreamer? Do you have the time, space and inclination to do the job for yourself?

There are companies out there who will do the job for you leaving you to just enjoy your life on the open road with your good as new or even better than new vdub Camper. As usual a Google search of VW restoration will give you plenty of food for thought.

Join a vdub club near you to enjoy member benefits and discounts on parts for your van.

Or Buy Brand New.

Yes you can buy VW Campers brand new. I thought that these iconic vehicles were out of production, but this is not the case.

New vdub's now come fully loaded with all the latest technology and gismos that you could ever need on a weekend camping trip in the Cotswolds or a week away in the South of France.

Either way you will be able to make a bold statement with your acquisition. Why not check out for inspiration.

Very interesting....I'm with TT, didn't know but I guess that's because we're on the other side of the pond.

I voted up, useful, and interesting..a nice subject that even though 'new' brings back memories.

they are making them in Brazil. Imported here to the UK they are retailing around the 30K mark, not cheap but are now fully loaded with power stearing, electric windows etc.
