The Town of Nove

One of my favorite places to visit, while living in Italy was a little town called Nove, about a thirty minute drive from my then, hometown of Vicenza. Nestled against the beautiful Marostican backdrop this town is a hubbub of artisan activity.

Visitors from all over the world come to visit more than 100 ceramic shops of the best handcrafted works in all of Italy. Well known for its wholesale value, many retail outlets such as Macys, Lenox, Pottery Barn, and Tiffany & CO, order their fabulous wares from this little town.

How to Purchase

Almost all the shops in Nove cater to the American dollar since not too far away are US military installations. The credit card is widely accepted, and if your skillful enough, you may want to try to barter for your price when purchasing.

If you're worried about shipping and handling since you're in a foreign country, no worries. Most of the shops will take care of that for you, but of course at a decent cost.

If you're not into spending, but more interested in the history of ceramics, then perhaps you should visit the local museum situated in the center of town.
