Visit Ford's theater
National Achives

As a note. The city of Washington landmarks, museums and memorials are free to the public if you elect to visit all the sites on your own. It can be quite difficult to do this since some of the sites are spread out across the city and the Washington D.C. region which also includes Maryland and Virginia.

The paid tours give you a better opportunity to view more sites while a tour guide specialist explain the history of the location to you. There are also lots of activity for your children to enjoy as well on the paid tour experience.

If you want to travel on your own to save money make sure to bring plenty of water with you if it's a summer trip. The weather is pretty bad with a high heat index of 90 degrees during the summer season in Washington. You will also have do a lot of walking to reach various places. The D.C train system can help you on your journey. It's one of the best train systems in all of the United States, very easy to use.

This concludes my hub on a complete travel guide to Washington D.C. Please, feel free to leave your comments below. As always, I look forward to hearing from you.
