What are great things to do on a Caribbean vacation in Barbados?

Updated on April 14, 2011

Sun, sea and sand - yes but....

Sun, sea and sand.... is that what comes to mind when you think of a tropical vacation on a Caribbean island?

For most people it is. And if that's what you're looking for, well our beautiful island of Barbados is a great choice. Lovely white sand beaches surround the island and are ideal for relaxing with a tropical drink in hand.... sun shining, ocean waves lapping the shore, toes in the sand, even the swaying palm trees :)

But that's not what this hub is about at all! No, today we want to focus on the more adventurous and exciting side of a Caribbean vacation in Barbados!

The more exciting side of Barbados...

Barbados is truly a hub of activity. Away from the quiet beaches and secluded coves is a whole world of adventure and fun!

From underwater adventures to partying the night away, your Caribbean vacation in Barbados will be one to remember!

Fun on your Caribbean vacation...

So just what are we talking about? Here's a sample of the fun to be enjoyed in Barbados:

Atlantis Submarines: For the family Atlantis Submarines is one of the most unique and popular attractions in Barbados. You'll be in a real submarine, with views all around, as curious fish peek in and sea fans sway!

Barbados Blue Water Sports: Get out and join those fish :) Snorkel over ship wrecks, learning to scuba dive, swim with the turtles, hand feed the fish, or go skiing! It's simply outstanding!

Harbour Lights Beach Extravaganza and Dinner Show: The Caribbean comes to life with the fire-eater, limbo queen, stilt walkers and shaggy bear! Enjoy live calypso (the sounds of the islands), open bar and delicious BBQ dinner! What better to experience island living?

Sunbury Great House - Historic Plantation House Tours: After all that excitement let's take it down a notch and explore a historic plantation house with magnificent Victorian rooms, furnished with an impressive collection of antiques, china, silver and old prints.

I wanna come to Barbados!

Ready to come to Barbados and experience it all?

If you want more information on the activities above drop by the Great Things To Do in Barbados page.

We hope we've inspired you to make your next Caribbean vacation a trip to Barbados!

We look forward to welcoming you to our shores and are sure you'll have a magnificent time discovering all that the island has to offer!

This is a wonderful hub! Thanks for sharing - this makes me even more interested in coming back to see the things I missed the first time. Voted up and followed you to make sure that I keep up with future updates.

I just wrote up a hub with nine of my favorite spots on your beautiful island as well. Thanks & all the best -

It's true Barbados is much more than sea and sun. These were some good suggestions, I'd also recommend Adventureland Tours and Segway tours.
