What happens when you don't take Vacations?

Updated on September 12, 2017

What happens when you don't take Vacations

With summer right around the corner, how many people are going on vacation with their family? Or do you take vacations during the winter months instead? What about taking vacations at all? Sure everyone takes vacations at one point in their life, don’t they? But how many people take vacations at least once a year? That is the big question. Everyone’s life is different so depending on who you ask, the answers will all be different some people don’t have time to take vacations at least once a year and other do. What happens to those people who don’t take a vacation once a year, what happens to them and their families or their minds even? Everyone needs to take a break at one point in their lives. You need the limitlessness, of relaxation at least a few times in your life so taking a vacation, helps with that.

Sure everyone probably takes mini weekend vacations but what about actual vacations where you are gone for a week or two at a time? How many people can remember when they took a week long vacation somewhere or even a two-week long vacation where you didn’t have to cook, clean or worry about anything but relaxing? I am sure some of you reading this are trying to rack your brain and figure out when the last time you took a vacation was. If you need to do that, what does that mean? I have an idea of what it could mean, you haven’t relaxed in a long time or taken a vacation to just shut your brain off and not worry about anything. Just enjoy life instead of work all the time, how many people can remember doing that?

What happens when you don’t take vacations? That is the question some of the answers that I have come up with are, you lose sanity. You lose willpower, doing the same thing over and over again. When you don’t take vacations neither your body nor your mind gets a break. You are always thinking of the limitless, things that you have to do weather is with the house, or work or whatever because that is all you are around, and you are constantly on the move, am I right or am I right? When you take vacations, however, you leave the stresses of work and home behind because you aren’t around them, or their causes. You don’t get a long enough change of scenery because you always go back home to where you have been for so long.

If you don’t take a vacation even every couple years, don’t you find you get angry and irritable? I find that when I don’t take a vacation I get angry and irritable because I don’t get a change of pace or get to forget about things that don’t matter at the time. I haven’t actually been on a weeklong vacation since I was 13, isn’t that sad? When you don’t take vacations you forget what relaxing feels like, you forget how to just let your mind go. Since you haven’t done that in so long. If you don’t take vacations you could lose your mind, if you don’t take a break every so often you will burn yourself out and then how good will you be. Which is what most people who don’t take vacations do, they burn themselves out and can’t get things done. When you do take an actual vacation where you don’t have a cell phone and you are away from home on a beach somewhere you don’t know how to relax. I am going on Vacation in November though and I can’t wait. I will write a post about it when I come back.

Vacations are great for relaxation aren't they?

People who don’t take vacations are more stressed out and high strung. This is because all they think about is what they have to do, in their lives instead of letting things go. That is what vacations help you with, to let things go and just enjoy what is in front of you rather than thinking of all the things that you have to do. I have noticed that since I haven’t taken a vacation in so long, I am more agitated because I am always in the same place never really letting my mind relax because I am in the same place all the time or too close to home. When you don’t take vacations you don’t get a break from your everyday routines and that can do your body more harm than good.

The more you don’t take vacations the crazier you get. I am not saying this to be mean, but it’s the truth. The longer you don’t take a break from your everyday life. If you work from home it's worse because you can go on vacation but how many people bring work with them? That is something, that we need to not do, and actually, use our vacation for what it is meant for which is relaxing. Everyone needs a break from work every once in a while to regroup and take time for themselves. If you don’t take time for yourself, you probably won’t be the nicest person to be around because you don’t know how to relax. That is what happens when you don’t take vacations, so take a vacation once in a while it will not only benefit you but the people around you too. There are limitless new opportunities that you can find by taking vacations and if you don't take them then you won't get those opportunities and nobody wants that do they?

Everyone wants the opportunity to travel and relax. The limitless things that vacations offer, are things that you can never get from home or the limitless experiences that you can get. If you don't take vacations you won't get to experience the limitless new things and you will be stuck doing the same thing over and over again which is boring. That is not what life is supposed to so take vacations and have fun, even if you just take mini vacations and sleep in another bed other than your own it is better than always being at home, if you don't take vacations you will go stir crazy because you won't get a change of scenery and everyone needs that every once in awhile.

If you don't take vacations you are always going to be limitlessly busy or at least feel like you have to be. You will never take a break and that is what vacations are for, and everyone needs a break every once in awhile. Even though we feel as though we should limitlessly work instead of taking breaks, the fact that we don't take breaks makes us move faster and we are limitlessly tired all the time and we feel as though nothing gets done. Or at least that is how I feel when I don't take vacations. Sometimes I just want to take a vacation without my phone and laptop just to get a break from the screen time, and I know other people want to do that too but for most us that hardly if ever happens,

When you don't take vacations you don't give your mind a break and you don't relax. People are more stressed out when they don't take vacations or at least that is what I think. Vacations are things that are meant to be done to relax and clear our minds of the limitless stresses that we call life. If we don't take vacations the stresses will be limitlessly there all the time and eventually, it will suffocate us in a sense so that is why we should all take a vacation of some kind at least once a year or every few years.

Why are vacations not taken?

Everyone likes taking vacations to relax but the big question is why are they not taken? Is it because we are too busy and can't get away? Or is it because we don't know how to take breaks? We all know that breaks and vacations are a part of like so that we can rejuvenate ourselves but most of the time they are the last things on our minds. There is always so much work to be done, that taking a vacation seems too time-consuming. However we all need to take vacations at some point in our lives, we need to get away from the hustle and bustle of life and relax without thinking about what is going on at home. It will help us have a fresh perspective when we get back. So take vacations even small ones you will be glad you did.
