I've been to Jamaica a few times now. It is one of my favorite places in the world. Of course when you visit Jamaica, there are countless tours and excursions that are basically forced on you with varying prices, but you really have to consider what you get for the price you pay. The last time I went, it was with a group of friends (six of us total). At the beginning of the week we scheduled two excursions. The first was a catamaran ride to the famous Rick's Cafe, which included an open bar on the boat, food and music, and it also included snorkeling. It was an awesome trip. The snorkeling was incredible (and very easy, if that type of stuff isn't your thing), and Rick's Cafe is a must-see. The cafe/bar is located on top of a cliff in Negril, and there are cliff jumpers for entertainment, and there are cliffs that visitors can jump off as well. The catamaran that we were on anchored a little ways off the cliff, and we had to swim up to the base of the cliff to get up to the cafe (not very far at all). Snorkeling is a must in Jamaica, whether you do it as part of a trip, or go out to just snorkel. My favorite thing we did though was a bar tour/pub crawl. A bus picked us up and took us to a bunch of local bars around Negril. We got to associate with locals and see a variety of bars, and it was an amazing experience. The locals are some of the friendliest people in the world, and we had a blast.
