Where in the world is a good place to be in January where it is not too hot or too cold ?

We are in a very hot place at the moment and getting hotter & very humid . Where would you go for a break before going to the colder climate of Europe and experiencing a major drop in temperature to fast ?

I love both the U.S. and Aussie from January through to Easter time. One never knows what to expect as far as rain or heat, but there are not usually extremes at that time of the year (unless one heads for the desert regions). Easy to pack for Easter, too. For the U.S. the more southern states are chilly, but still some amount of humidity to take the edge off. A couple of t-shirts, shorts, one pair of longs, one sweater, and some tennis shoes ought to cover all seasons.

    Kerry:)

San Francisco! I am in love with that place! I actually was there this year for New Year's, and the weather was perfect. Beautiful during the day, and I didn't need more than a hoodie at night.

Thanks , I only had 1 day there so would love more time exploring . I thought all America would be freezing at that time of year .

Hawaii is nice in January. You're in a t-shirt during the day plus a layer at night.

Penacola, Fl.  I have found that it's just right during the cold seasons.  Don't get me wrong.  Florida can get a little nippish but, coming from up north, it's like a walk in the park!

I second this. My fiance's family lives across the border in Alabama, on the Gulf and within 30 minutes of Pensacola. I've been there is January and it was nice!

As a Floridian, January is one of my favorite times of the year.  We usually swim on New Year's day!  The temperature is just right and the days are filled with sunhine.  The nights are cool, but then I enjoy being able to wear a sweater or hoodie once in awhile.
