Ha ha....an interesting pool of thoughts
That's interesting to know. I wonder if there is a deeper meaning of it in the Qur'an explaining why God/Allah made it so....
the Quran doesn't give us explanations of everything ... but makes us aware of things that we do not know...
here's a scientific explanation for it ...
@ lady_E ..
God created this to show His existence.
Usually ( by nature)when two water bodies meet they mixes but this seas does not mix each other. And this is the sign that this whole creation is made by a Supreme Being (Allah).
So Muhammed used it as an allegory to illustrate that people are different from each other, and who's to say which one is better or worse? Interesting that he knew of this place that long ago (or could "see" it).
It IS the difference in two types of water meeting. Immediately, there is a stark contrast as the types of water haven't had the opportunity to mix. The picture in question was take at the Gulf of Alaska where iron-rich glacial water met ocean water.
Quran 27- 61. Is He [not best] who made the earth a stable ground and placed within it rivers and made for it firmly set mountains and placed between the two seas a barrier? Is there a deity with Allah ? [No], but most of them do not know.
The main scientific reason for two different colors being the Scattering of light.
Not only the density, it is mainly due to the chemical and mineral composition the water contains.
Cheers Terry, Some things in the world are definitely a mystery. We still haven't worked out the Bermuda Triangle.....
It's in the middle of the Gulf of Alaska.
