    What is your favorite time of year to visit Maine - "Vacation Land"?

    We have art museums, leaf peeping, islands, beaches, white water rafting, mountain climbing, hiking, boating, world renowned dining, resorts, B&Bs, fairs, the best Skiing in the East, and so much more.

    When I was growing up we'd go to O.O.B. (Old Orchard Beach) every summer usually the first 2 weeks of July. I've been wanting to go back to Maine and I'd love to see Maine during the fall.

      OOB is definitely a fun place. The beaches there and around the area are some of the best. Hope you make it back soon!

    Definitely summer for I love its Appalachian Trail section, which is the hardest part of the entire 2200 miles long trail.

    Since I am planning to thru-hike the A.T. I am seriously considering starting from Katahdin, Maine rather than from GA in order to get over with the most difficult part early when my spirit is high. If I do that, I have to start in May.

      Wow, what a hike! A lot of people do start here so they can head toward warmer climes as they hike. We used to own an old farm house right near the trail where the Mahoosucs meet the Presidential range. Enjoy your trip!
