   It is an air balloon and the fire is the balloon releasing the fire to stay afloat. We are looking through a hole in the center of the balloon, past the crowd in the basket at a city down on the earth.

      Oh. I forgot to say that the camera was in a second balloon, helicopter, or airplane, above the first balloon.

   From the inside and the side of a hot air balloon, but it had to have been photo-shopped because there is no way that a picture of a cut-away section like that could have been shot. The photo shows one section of the balloon, the basket, and the cars below. There is no spot in a balloon where you could snap a picture like that.

   This photo is taken from inside of a hot air balloon as it is ascending. There is a flap built into the top of the balloon controlled by a rope to let hot air out of the balloon when you wish to descend. It appears that the camera is mounted to that control rope.

   I'll go outside the box. What the heck.  I'll say it is taken from the basket of people that we are looking at and we are looking at a picture of a reflection in a mirror.
           I grew up in the late 60s, early 70s, if you know what I mean.

   This photo was taken by men, who is in the basket of the balloon and holds a long stick in his left hand. At the end of the stick is  the camera by which this photo was taken.

      You may be correct - unless that is a red cord opening the flap.
