If you have a choice, would you rather visit Japan instead of the Philippines and why?

That's a hard choice. I have friends in the Philippines and I've been there before. I'm American, but I'm fluent in Cebuano and I understand most of Tagalog. It would be a real nostalgic place. Japan would be entirely new and quite an adventure, but I don't know anyone there.

Well, I am a Filipina and whilst I love to visit my own country every time, I would like to visit Japan for a change as I have also a very good Japanese friend who wants me to go and see her country and I have not been to Japan so one day I will definitely go and have a good holiday in Japan. Japan is one on the list of places that I want to go and see in the future. I think Japan has a lot to offer. I love their beautiful cherry trees when they are in bloom.

I am American living in the Philippines (semi-retired) and can honestly say that it is much cheaper to live in PH than it is in JP. I don't know a lot about Cebu, but I can answer any questions you may have about Bacolod City. You are free to email any further questions you may have regarding this area.

Hi Ron thanks for the response. I was born in Iloilo and have relatives in Bacolod, but have not been there since 1950. I bet it has changed a lot. Have a great day!

I bet it has made many changes since 1950. Our population is over 1 million now even thou wiki and other places online say its 500,000. But when you combine all the Barangays it's well over 1M.

I would rather visit Japan because the Philippines appears to be more like an LEDC (Less Economically Developed Country). Where as Japan is an MEDC (More Economically Developed Country).
