To see an spectacular aurora borealis is on my ist to do before I die. Now, I don't want to see just a meh aurora borealis, I want to see a spectacular one. Where should I go to see a jaw-drapping one, and also is a certain time of the year better than others? In short: where and when can you see the most amazing the Northern Lights?

Thanks RTalloni, Hatcher Pass, Alaska looks like a great place to visit anyway, for the scenery. I've never been to Alaska. Thanks for the suggestion!
I randomly came across this question and really appreciate the answer. An amazing view of the Northern Lights is one of my biggest dreams. Would love to visit Alaska in general too! Nice to have a specific location in mind now. :-)
