Should hotels be required by law to advertise their "hidden fees" just like airlines?

Anyone staying in a hotel these days will get a nasty surprise when they checkout. The added taxes, surcharges and fees for phone, housekeeping, baggage handling, etc. can be added without your knowledge.

I travel a good number of times each year and the extra charges make up for any discounts I ever receive from various clubs I being to. It's very irritating.

It's probably acceptable because it raises more revenue for the towns and cities and they don't think they'll be seeing you again.
