   Yep; it's snowin' and blowin' in New Jersey right now.
   Thankfully it's Saturday so nobody had to go to work or school, and we didn't have any major plans that were affected.

   Southern Ohio about 60 miles from us was hit with several inches of snow, but here, it was just highly windy on Friday.  Kentucky was hit harder.
   
   My condolences and good wishes to all who were affected - I still remember the blizzard called White Hurricane of 1978, where I had to dig out of my apartment, because the snow drifted 5 feet high.

   Yes. I reside in Charlotte, NC area and we got hit with sleet, snow, freezing rain.  The whole town was shut down Friday morning, all day Saturday and probably Sunday as well.
   
   But all is well - I enjoyed the day at home from work Friday and relaxing this weekend.  As long as the power doesn't go out, it's nice to have a good ice or snow storm in these parts every now and then!  We don't get this often.

   Yes, but thankfully no power outages in our area.  We are enjoying a white blanket of snow and being snugged in with neighbors who are enjoying the down time too. Though it is sad that there are those who suffer because of severe weather, it is important to remember that there are many, many communities who are actually thankful for the quiet respite from normal routines.

   No, I live in London; but we are hearing all about it, blow by blow, snowflake by snowflake with updates on the news approximately every half an hour. Strangely enough, it is unusually warm for the time of year here - a lovely sunny day.
   
   Hope it doesn't last too long - look after yourselves and follow instructions etc, etc.

   Yes, snowed in and plan to be inside probably until Wednesday. It's really bad and still snowing. We expect about 2 feet in Washington. I'm actually enjoying the slow pace as I'm usually rushing to do something or to get somewhere. I took my time cooking a big pot of curry chicken and a pot of rice and peas. It was so good. So, aside from not looking forward to the task of digging out of my house at some point, the blizzard has caused me to slow down and enjoy stillness. I don't understand people who are already stir-crazy and need to get out. Be safe, enjoy the stillness.

   It depends upon how you mean affected? I guess you could say so. It appears that the storm developed over East Texas and Arkansas, and we got "thunder sleet" and then from 6 to 8 inches of snow. Since Little Rock and North Little Rock are mountainous, and it is too dangerous to drive on sleet and black ice covered by snow, state government offices were closed Friday. I work for the state legislature, and it was just as well they closed down because I was snowed in on the hilltop where I live. The thaw began today. It was so cold in our underground house that we actually lit the heat. We've been using electric heaters to warm up the room that we are using at the time. Anyway, I got a nice little reprieve from work, and I'm glad because I'm still recuperating from major surgery.
   Apparently the storm gained momentum in Tennessee and Kentucky and fiercely moved on to the east. I'm not being flip about its seriousness. My heart goes out to those who were affected so badly by this monster. They are in my thoughts and prayers.
