Let us break all limits of Adventure
I have made a few lenses on "travel and places" but today I decided to mix my passion for spirituality and travel and then I came accross this idea of Astral travel. It might sound strange but instead of finding philosophy and spirituality boring and dull, as most people think, I truely find it exciting and adventurous. I am sure, if you involve yourself in the adventurous side of spirituality, you will tend to become addictive (in a positive way). I have deliberately categorise this lens under "travel and places" instead of placing it under "spirituality" as I want people to realise that Astral Travel does exist and more research is required in this field. Good thing is that now people have started realising multple dimensions exist in this universe and we have power to expeience higher dimesions.
We will discuss a few techniques for astral projection and I will hope that you will not only enjoy reading it but will also try to experiment with it in real life.
Lastly, I would like to keep this lens a bit interactive. So share your experience which will be good for me, you and our Squidoo community.

Let us begin to experience our first astral travel towards other dimensions
I always wonder when NASA tries to find other planets, stars etc., they always assume that if life is there on any other planets, it will always be in the same dimension as ours. I do not understand why can not they accept that there might be creatures in higher dimension and it will be not straight forward for us to feel or understand them.
Many people have now accepted the facts that many of us pass to higher dimensions after we die.
Why I am writing all this is, because unless we develop that faith and belief, it will not be possible for us to have that wonderful experience of astral travel.
I will recommend you to read a book by Dr. Brian Weiss to develop that faith before you start experimenting. The book is Same soul Many bodies. I found this a life changing book.
Techniques for astral projection
Creating the right atmosphere is very important before we try these techniques.
Your room should have walls, curtains etc. of very soothing plain colors. I recommend beige or light lavendour colours but you may choose any such color of your choice.
Have a white comfortable mat on the floor with a middle size pillow.
You should have a soothing appropriate music going on in the room. I will recommend you to download music by clicking below which is very highly recommended to create a suitable atmosphere for attaining astral projection.
Finally, the room should have the right aroma to instigate the technique. It has been seen that the blend of sandalwood, benzoin, Cinnamon, myrrh, patchouli and frankincence works the best.
After the whole atmosphere is created you are ready to experiment with this technique. Time of the day doesn't really matter but I prefer to do it in the night as the distractions are less in the nights.
Begin the music, and lie down on the mat with you eyes closed. Do not impose any thought on you and concentrate on your breathing pattern. Feel the whole inhaling and exhaling process. Feel all your body parts one by one. You will realize that you get a vague kind of sensation in your feet when you feel your feet in your mind. You will feel the stress going away from your feet. Repeat the same process for each part of your body. You will feel very calm and quiet and peaceful after 45 minutes.
Just listen to the music and enjoy the atmosphere. The whole process is meant to remove that usual restlessness from your mind.
After you feel peaceful, imagine to see your body as a third person. Imagine that you are not a part of your body and watch your lying body on the mat.
It will be a very strange feeling.
Try to feel as if you are floating in the ceiling and watching your calm body on the mat.
Follow this procedure for 7-8 days. You may do it only on weekends if you want.
Once you start enjoying the process, you will feel calm and quiet. You will not be distracted.
Then, you try as if a silver chord is attached between you the watcher and your body on the mat (the one being watched).
Try going out of the window. Feel the outside atmosphere. Come back to the room. Continue doing this till you feel comfortable.
I am sure, slowly one will be able to attain the astral travel that we dream of.
I would like to clarify that I have not yet attained that expertise but I am still trying.

Yoga helps you achieve Astral travel
In addition to meditation, yoga helps you achieve astral travel faster. There are many types of yoga techniques but what I prefer most is the "Bikram yoga" where you do yoga in 50 degree temperature. It is like doing yoga in Sauna. You feel your body muscles to be massaged in the first 40 minutes making them very very flexible, then in the next 20 minutes the same affect reaches to your ligaments and finally in the last 40 minutes, your it reaches your nervous system cleansing your body soul connection.
I did not feel tired even on my first day of "Bikram yoga" and very strongly recommend this to all astral travel aspirants.
