The Discovery Gateway, also known as the Children's Museum is a great place to have a day of fun with the kids in Salt Lake City, Utah. The Discovery Gateway is designed to give children of all ages a place to explore and learn subjects in science, art and the humanities. With over 75 hands on exhibits to experience, a family should leave at least a half day open to visit the Discover Gateway Museum.

Some of the most popular exhibits allow children to get a inside look at careers such as sports casting, a pilot, and a scientist. There are literally activities specifically designed for every age group. Kids can play in water, jump in a large pits of balls, create life sized mazes and blow giant bubbles. The Old Children's Museum, now called the Discovery Gateway of Utah. First opened in 1983, the museum had only eight exhibits in the former Wasatch Warm Springs building two miles north of downtown Salt Lake City.

      A few years ago, you had an exhibit for the animated show "Robots" which we really enjoyed; however, I think we had the most fun in the ball area. I'm not sure what it was called, but it's where the balls get sucked up into the different tubes and then travel back down in a Rube Goldberg sort of way.
