Spectacular ranges and beautiful scenery for hikes grace the most famous mountain ranges. From the Tetons, where skiing is popular in the United States, to Asian mountain ranges, virtually unexplored by Western society, to Europe, where many people hike and enjoy the beauty and splendor of their rantes, to the Alps, where Heidi yodeled and you heard the ever present theme of "Riccola", mountain ranges inspire us all!

Please explore this site and close your eyes, imagining you are really there, and you aren't even completing your own bucket list! I hope you enjoy this website and please leave some comments at the bottom of the page.

Of All the Famous Mountain Ranges, How Many Have You Seen?

How Many Have You Seen?

Growing up in Southern Ohio, I did not see mountains. I dd see hills and many of them.

When you are little, you think the hills are larger than they really are. You rush to the top and declare yourself King! That is where our games of "King of the Mountain" originated anyway.

When we took trips from Ohio to Florida to visit my Grandparents, I remember my first glances of the majestic Smokey Mountains. I remember my dad driving, while pulling the trailer around some of those hairpin turns and making us all wonder if we were going to hang on. I saw the movie "The Long, Long Trailer" with Lucy and Desi in my early years and riding in the Smokies always reminded me of that.

Through the years, I have seen many mountain ranges on several continents and am always in awe of them! I hope you are as interested in this information as I am and hope you enjoy this website!

The Long Long Trailer - My Early Experience with Mountains!

The Long, Long Trailer
The Long, Long Trailer

If this movie does not inspire you to fly instead of driving, I don't know what will. It was my first experience in life of knowing what mountains really are. We traveled, pulling a trailer also through the mountains...but it was nothing like this. Enjoy this humorous look. It does have some very minor special effects but the content is up to date and really funny, even in today's society!

Ahhh! The Mountains. I grew up just 15 miles from the highest point east of the Mississippi River in Western N.C. The highest peak is off the Blue Ridge Parkway and called Mount Mitchell (now a State Park). I used to lead hikes on the ole toll road to Mt. Mitchell (a 15 mile trek) and view the range known as the Seven Sisters. This is located in the Great Smokies Mtn. Range. Wonderful lens and photo's. Thanks for sharing.

I sure do love the beauty and majesty of mountain ranges ... provided I don't have to climb 'em!

Mountain Ranges. I am very aware of two mountain ranges. They both are in California. I spend vacation in the Sierra Nevada Mtn range and I live directly below and a little up the San Gabriel Mtn Range. I have lenses on both. They were my favorites. The first range produces water and 2nd one produces rocks.
