My Most Favorite Place?
Finding Places to Love
In your lifetime, how many places should you travel? Should there be a limit? Should you stop once you fulfilled the ones in your bucket list? A lot of people prefer to stay where they are. I know a lot of friends who haven't been outside of their county! Unbelievable, right? I respect them, nevertheless, if that's what they want and if that's what makes them happy. But for me, that would be a boring life! Imagine, what they miss in this whole wide world? The beautiful places that God has created to be admired! Besides, I learned when you travel, you don't only see the place. Learning their culture and meeting different kinds of people are the bonuses that go with it.
I consider myself lucky for having traveled to a lot of places already. Even back home in the Philippines, I have been to the northern and southern parts of the country for business and personal trips. I went as far as Baguio up north and Davao City in the south. My country is beautiful and there are a lot of places that have been developed lately for tourism.
When I came here in the US in the early 2000's, I felt so blessed that I married a man who also loves to travel. He immediately took me to nearby places which took me to two states right away since we live in a tri-state area. I discovered that the US is so beautiful! We live in a beautiful valley, surrounded with mountains that are so full of trees (which was a big shock to me considering that the mountains where I came from were bald), lakes, farms, rivers and creeks!
Some of the most fascinating places that took my breath away are the Niagara Falls, the Arches of Utah, the Yellowstone Park, the Grand Canyon and the road trip along the Pacific Coast. Those are what I considered as jaw dropping, awe-inspiring, dream come true amazing places. But, nevertheless, it does not mean that other places are less beautiful and appealing.
So many times, I am asked "what's your most favorite place?". That is a very difficult question to answer. It's really, very, very difficult to decide which place is the most beautiful. Every place I've been to, is always a favorite place in it's own right. What's yours?
Photos from my trips!
1. Every time I travel, I always make sure to try the local restaurants. This way you can taste the region's famous foods. My husband and I try to avoid restaurant chains in lieu of some local hometown famous pubs or restaurants.
2. When looking for restaurants or entertainment or famous destinations, I always use TripAdvisor website. I also do reviews for this website.
3. Travel light. Avoid hauling big, heavy bags by mixing outfits. A simple scarf or hat or vest can make the difference.
Consult Travel Websites
When planning on a trip, consult travel websites. After an idea of going to a certain place comes in, I normally start searching the internet for information. There are tons of websites you can use to get an idea of what to do, the best time to visit, where to stay or rent a car. You can never go wrong with TripAdvisor. In this website, you are almost certain you stay at a well rated hotel, eat at a good local restaurant and find places for activities.
This is my favorite to go website for travel. I am also a member and I write reviews for this website. I have contributed 95 reviews and have earned 36 badges. Please, check reviews by fujijohn.

Travel while you can! On my trips, I always notice older people who are in wheelchairs and crutches. I am not judging, maybe they are used to travelling and it's good not to quit until the curtain calls. Or maybe, they were busy earning a living and never had the chance to travel. It's never too late! But my advice is travel while you still can!
