When you eat at a bad restaurant do you make sure you review it online?
I went to a Thai restaurant tonight and had looked up the reviews before hand and it had 4.5 stars but we went and it was not worth 2 stars. I was disappointed and wish the reviews had been honest or had reflected what we had. What do you normally do when this happens to you?
No I usually don't leave a tip or at least not a very big one and probably will not visit that restaurant again.
Usually just stop going there...once I saw a mouse running around the tables in very poshy restaurant....sometimes 'accidents happen in the best of the best places'...I also believe that chefs have bad days too...nothing is perfect all the time:)...sometimes it is good to give them another chance...
No. I expect most restaurants to be bad. When I find one I like, I tell everyone I know.
Now my daughter is constantly updating blog about the places we went to eat. So, whether good or bad, it will be blogged by my daughter.
It is good to let others know how you feel but not necessary that others will feel the same as everyone has his/her own taste bud.
Good for you may not be good for another. Like the saying goes: One man meat is another man poison.
just take it as another experience to note... another lesson to consider.. never expect anything much from online advertisement for some of it are just bluff..
or that day was just a bad day for that restaurant, do fail sometimes... and sometimes when we least expect it..
It never happens so I son't have to think about doing this!
Actually, because of the long opening hours of restaurants they usually have more than one cook. Cooks need a day off too. It might just have been a beginner who cooked the food. Who knows? But the fact is that many restaurants have good and bad days and that is often the reason.
If I can't get anywhere with the management, if they don't try to fix it while I am there - then I will take my complaint online.
I'm surprised at how this is handled by everybody but it made me think that I should be more patient and understanding when I go out to eat.
I don't but I think I should as there are plenty of reviews online that are not true :S
I usually tell my family and friends that I personally didn't like it, but if they want to try it they can see how it was for themselves.
If it happened - then that will be my last time to see the restaurant. However, I am puzzled with your question - you used "bad restaurant" - what made it bad?
I usually stop going there. But if the service & the food was truly terrible, I would make sure to review it online so that the next couple of yelpers will know what to expect.
If it was an actual sit-down restaurant, for sure. I do because I use other people's ratings myself, and think I should warn others of a bad experience. This goes for really good experiences as well, and also motel and other business experiences.
I Yelp every place, good, bad and ugly. And I find that some people are clueless when it comes to quality.
If I don't think that the meal was up to what I expected I will tell the waiter to pass on my comments to the chef. In my home town many many years ago I could only really eat in two restaurants due to my complaining about either the food or the service
No I don't do an online review. I do an old fashioned letter and tell the manager / owner about the experience and why it wasn't satisfactory. Also, word of mouth is a very potent marketing tool. You tell a minimum of 15 people when you don't like something and a maximum of 5 if you do like something. After reading your experience though, I'll consider online reviews in the future.
if it's really bad, I would probably leave a review. If just kinda bad, I might just do star review somewhere in the middle. If really good, -definitely- leave a review. i want to help cool places.
I've had a bad experience at a restaurant once and when we got home I called the restaurant to speak with the Manager to tell of our experience there. I've never done an online review.
Also I told my friends and family.

Do you give a tip if the service is bad?I can't bring myself to not leave a tip even when I've gotten lousy service. I think perhaps they are having a bad day, things are happening in their life they can't control or perhaps if I leave them a tip they will give the next person better service.

Eating out is ridiculously fun. Why not write a review of the next restaurant you visit and enter it in our Rigorous Review Contest? I recommend presenting your titles in a more descriptive manner, possibly batching multiple restaurant reviews under a theme (and just using the Ratings Capsule for...

If you are in a bad mood, do you prefer to be alone?Or you believe in discussing it with near one to get relieved and freshen up?

Why do so many people think it's better to be in a bad relationship than to be alone?I enjoy my own company and I have so many crafts and hobbys that I love. Being alone is not a bad thing to me. I have three children and as we prepare to send the last one off to college my mind races with all the...
