Would you consider leaving your home town and moving to a foreign country?
Which countries would you consider and why?
If I didn't have children and their children here, then I would consider it an adventure to do so. I would love to visit England, Scotland, Ireland and also Greece then decide which of those suit me temperature-wise. Would love to live in a warmer climate.
I already have. :-) I lived 5.5 years in Germany and 3.5 years (and counting!) in the UK.
This is an option I have considered as a possibility once I've graduated, but before I settle down. I think that living by yourself is one of the greatest things a person can do, and you learn so much from it - and living on your own in a foreign place is REALLY a good learning experience.
I'd love to go somewhere like Turkey or Morocco, but I can see myself maybe moving to Italy or Germany... Great question!
I have: Japan to teach English. I wish I had remained longer. It really makes a difference to see the U.S. outside of the box and through the eyes of the world's onlookers. (And I had to hear the criticisms of George Bush! I thought I'd be eaten alive in France!) You find out how not-so-great your nation can be. You learn to love your country...warts and all.
I did and it's great! You get a whole new experience and you do not stagnate.
I did and it was one of the hardest and probably one of the best decisions I ever made. We all have to sacrifice something in order to have something better. Now in Singapore but when I graduate, I'll be all over the world!
I was stationed in Panama for about 9 months years ago. I would consider it again given the right job. Where? probably not Asia, that part of the world doesn't do much for me (no offense to anyone!)
Would definitely consider it if it were Australia or Ireland/Scotland. Maybe somewhere in South America as well. I did come across an ad from a head hunter company for Saudi Arabia but the job I would be qualified for was already filled. That would be interesting.
Like many who have already answered I have already done this.
I lived my first forty-five years in one town in England. Five years ago I moved to the United States. I am glad that I did. I have found that once you change your life so dramatically in moving across the world, there is little to fear.
I have used the opportunity to go back to school and gain a degree, now working on a Master's degree, I own a much nicer home, the weather is better, though I do miss the clouds sometimes. I have also gained a much broader view of the world and am much happier today than I was ten years ago.
Absolutely! Given the opportunity and the right circumstances. I love Prague, it's people, history and culture. This city is beautiful! That would be my first choice. Next would be London or Paris.
i think we all love to visit or move to other country..i would like to move in canada, italy or usa..i would love to go to a place where there are many percentage of my countrymen hahaha..and also i love friendly people and cool country to live with..
I have: in fact I currently am living in another country, Singapore! Came here to study, and now working here.
Yes! We packed up our family of four and moved to Thailand for many reasons.
1. The culture is welcoming to foreigners
2. It is safe, and a great heath care system
3. You can live like kings for a fraction of the cost in the US
4. We wanted to expose our children to another culture
I would do it all over again, best decision we ever made!
