Seven days or fifteen days? Any particular region I should consider?
Bandhavgarh National Park I heard is beautiful. Goa Beaches as well I heard is a beautiful beach to spend the day. I have never been to India but my co worker has. Kerala Backwaters is a place to visit as well.

The best region to visit is the Kerela Region. Make a trip of 15 days and you'll get to visit most most the awesome places in these days. Plan a complete trip with places you want to visit and you'll really enjoy the trip a lot.
From wildlife sanctuaries to Kerela backwaters, architecture to beaches. At last do not forget to have a good SPA and some Ayurveda treatment.
