   Are you fascinated by the story of the Titanic ?
   
   I have been since I saw a documentry on it at school in NZ . We sailed from Southhamton to NZ in 1970 , maybe that is why I follow all the stories . I still like going on ships ! Do you follow all the stories about it ?

   I love history and the Titanic sinking has always fascinated me.  I do follow the stories and watch all the specials too.  I also love going on ships

   I think it's interesting to look at it from the perspective of being completely overconfident and not taking prudent measures to avoid catastophe. And I also think we didn't learn from it as much as we could. We've repeated it over and over again. For example, the space shuttle Challenger, believing in it's safety enough to put a teacher/ mother on board, and I think the most recent example is the economic crisis we have been in because of overconfidence, greed, and arrogance.

   Absolutely. Its so tragic and poignant. It doesn't appear that it could've been avoided, according to the research on the 100 year documentary. The bravery and stories of those lost and those saved are fascinating.

   From what I saw on a programme Sunday night this possibly could have been avoided If they had used all steel rivets instead of some cheaper weaker ones .- If they had hit head on instead of sideways where the weaker rivets were .
   Also if the guy taking the messages had got them to the Captain straight away & if he had not been rude to the other ship they might have had the radio on & rescued them .

   It was a great chapter back in our school book and yes inspite of the tragedy we love all the awe around the story, the Carpathia and all the rescue efforts...but I never went for the movie and probably will never see it..its too sad

   We love the story of Titanic.
   
   It is the love that makes us fall in love with the show. It is very heartening and sad to see this sort of tragic.

   I love the story of Titanic.I had have chapter about "Sinking of Titanic" in my 12th standard. I love the Love story in that movie.

    Yes. My home in England was not far from Liverpool, the White Star Line headquarters was there and Titanic was registered there.  Anyone visiting Liverpool can see the Titanic Memorial just down a side street near the Pier Head and a visit to the Liverpool Maritime Museums Gallery on the Titanic is a real treat.
    
    Now I live in California, I still follow the stories from the ship. On Saturday 14th April, 2012 I made a presentation of the stories of some of the principal people involved in the tradgedy in 1912. Then we showed the movie "A Night to Remember", much the best movie on the tragedy, IMO. It was a very successful presentation.

    Yes, I've always been fascinated by it as it was the most fabulous ship ever built at the time and was billed as 'unsinkable'. I think I have seen almost every movie and documentary about the ship and its fate. The stories of all the people on board are very, very moving and the passenger list contained people from every 'class'. The treatment they received as the ship sank is very pertinent to the time. Could the disaster have been avoided? The words and phrases over-confidence, cutting corners and inefficiency come to mind.
    A very good friend made me a huge model of Titanic and it sits on my window sill to this day.
