For me I think the frenzy associated with warmer european regions like Spain,Portugal etc is fading out fast, as such places is now turning out our second home with no really genuine adventures any more.I'll chose Iceland as a stop,I find they are naturally happy people.

Nauvoo, Illinois, it's very rich in history.  Perhaps even Adam-Ondi-Ahman, another pivotal place in history.

The Redneck Riviera, on Florida's panhandle - white beaches, clear water, and laid-back atmosphere! I have some pics posted on a couple of my hubs.

Vancouver, BC. You won't be dissapointed. Plus there's less chance of getting your kidney stolen like some of the other places mentioned.

I am Irish living in Germany and I usually go on a sun holiday to the Canary Islands where one is almost guaranteed the sun every day. I do this once a year for my sun needs. However, if I could have sunshine in my own country, I would holiday there all the time. Ireland is a beautiful destination but you are likely to have sun, rain, wind, snow and hail all in the one day, every day! If you are not fussy about the weather, West Cork, Kerry and basically all of our island is just beautiful. We are in a recession at the moment so prices are lower than in the Celtic Tiger days when a coffee would cost you 6 euro in Dublin. Today you will pay 2.95 for a good cappucino in the heart of the capital. We have great museums, entrance fees zero and there's lots to do in the capital. If you are more interested in scenery, we are an island so you can go to any coastal area and you will find the most wonderful beaches to walk on, lots of green fields, woodlands and beauty spots adorn the country. You could sign up for a few weeks in a Gaeltach where you can learn the Irish language and spend your time doing Irish dancing and singing along in the pubs at the local sessions. Ireland is a fun place, nice people and good craic agus ceoil. It will be a holiday to remember.

Madrid Spain is my pick. A close friend spent the summer there last year and now wants to move to spain for good!

Like the best tapas bars, Madrid offers a selection of delights so tempting it reduces even the most seasoned traveler to giddiness. On one glorious stretch of boulevard, it houses three of the world’s greatest art museums. It boasts Western Europe’s largest Royal Palace and its most audacious gay pride parade. Get lost in the 16th-century cobblestoned streets around Plaza Mayor, the über-trendy boutiques of Chueca, the upscale chic of Salamanca, and the medieval elegance of La Latina. Dine on cutting-edge cuisine in a world-famous culinary temple or join locals in a gritty corner bar where the simple tapas come in huge portions and everyone throws their napkins on the floor. Begin a night out at 10 p.m. with a heart-stirring flamenco performance and finish at 6 a.m. with pulse-racing techno. Madrid is a city that locals proudly claim never sleeps. Except, that is, during siesta. Do like they do and take a nap—it is key to truly living la vida madrileña.
