Which is the most beautiful city of the world and why?

I would say Venice, because of the architecture and the history, plus its lack of cars.  Also, the feeling of mystery of a city which is sinking, all adds to the beauty of Venice.

I'd vote for Istanbul. There are plenty of beautiful sites and the setting, astride Europe and Asia, makes it especially interesting

Beijing China. It has spectacular historic scenic spots, the Great Wall, the Imperial City, the Summer Palace, the Tian Tan Temple...

The state-of-the-art constructions, Bird Nest Olympic Village, The Grand National Theatre...

Of course the beautiful natural viewland, Xiang Mountain Park, Botanical Garden, Wild Animal Zoo, Mi Yun, Huai You...

as well as entertainment, shopping avenues... I love and miss it so much!

Wow, this is a very tough question.  For people who like history, historic places, and nature, then I would suggest Kyoto in Japan.

This place in Japan is known for its countless shrines and temples that have been inscribed in the UNESCO World Heritage Site list.

The general look of the city is very quaint, like all the buildings, no matter how new they are, were built to blend with the colors of the centuries-old shrines and temples.  For example, stores of McDonald's here don't have their signature red, white and yellow paints.  Instead, they have brown paint and they do not display the McDonald's logo outside of their establishments.

Also, Kyoto is famous for its fall/autumn leaves.  The explosion of colors draw in millions of visitors during the months of October and November.

The matsuri or festivals in Kyoto are also something else.  They have these festivals where hundreds of residents would dress up in genuine Kyoto costumes that Japanese wore for the last 2,000 years.  Magnificent.

Oh, my goodness. There are so many remarkable places in the world. I love every single one of them. I have been privileged to have traveled to China, Australia, New Zealand, Canada and many states here in the United States.

To quote my favorite movie The Wizard of Oz - "there is no place like home".

I expect in my lifetime our family will live overseas, the city will change as it has changed many times in my life, yet the love of where I am will always be where my family resides.

My family is mainly in San Diego and while I am here in Wisconsin and Chicago Illinois, my heart is with my family.

Fantastic question - thank you for allowing us to share.

All I need in life is a date with Richard Gere and a summer home in Newark.

Helen, GA. It's an "Alpine village" tucked in the Blue Ridge Mountains. The Chattahoochee River runs through the middle of downtown. All the buidlings are in Bavarian style. Really, it looks like a storybook village! It's one of our favorite places to visit, and I've written several hubs about it.

I would probably say either Wellington or Edinburgh--both have a gorgeous downtown and wonderful surrounding natural areas.

What about Bruges? Its medieval preserved personality. I fell in love with its city.
